  1. Have not heard anything back from UCSD, but I think it's safe to say it's a rejection! I accepted my offer at UCI and turned down my offer to USC. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting or making a decision; this was a really tough cycle, but it's almost over!
  2. Just got rejected from UCLA Community Health Sciences! Congratulations to all that have gotten in -- on to the next!
  3. congrats on your acceptance!! I am also waiting to hear back from UCLA and SDSU/UCSD. Based on previous years' threads, I noticed that SDSU/UCSD releases so late compared to other programs.. like mid/end of march ? I'm not sure what the etiquette is for reaching out to schools, but since you are on a time crunch, it may not hurt to ask!
  4. Also applied there, but for their Health Behavior. I think they tend to release admissions later than other schools according to previous threads. I saw acceptances on the results page in March ?
  5. Thank you!! I was not interviewed, but it may be different for different tracks since EHS is technically in another department. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
  6. I received an acceptance to UCI (disease prevention) this Friday
  7. I haven't heard from UCI yet, but for Disease Prevention track! It seems like students on track to being admitted will be invited to their prospective visit day, which has historically been this week! I'm sure UCI is running behind though, because it doesn't seem like they released any kind of decision for all 3 of the tracks! Wishing the best for both of us!
  8. thank you for replying and validating me haha I've been super paranoid and keep thinking that all of my emails (regardless of the outcome) are going straight to my spam or I'm accidently deleting them or something :')
  9. Has anyone heard back from UCSD/SDSU's joint doctoral program or UC Irvine's disease prevention?
  10. Has anyone heard back from UC Irvine, disease prevention track? They've historically sent out the prospective visits day invites by the first week of Feb and hosted them the second week. Trying to convince myself that programs may be running late this year due to covid, etc. ?
  11. I believe you should have received the login information/directions for your YouSC account after submitting your application! The YouSC portal is where they would post your official offer letter, but I think specifics in terms of funding may come from the department.
  12. hi! Yes, I was invited to tomorrow's event! I think my interviews were more informal so that they could clarify what my research interests are and align them with faculty there. I think my personal statement may have not been specific enough for them to figure out exactly what my interests are. Have you checked your YouSc account to see if any admissions have been made? I think it's a VERY good sign that you were invited to tomorrow's event and I don't think interviews are mandatory.
  13. was wondering if anyone applied to UC Irvine and has heard anything back?
  14. Yeah, it's very confusing ? I'm not sure about the timeline, or when they would help students secure funding, but I think talking to current students (I always reach out to them via LinkedIn or find their emails on the department websites) to see where they receive funding + asking your POI + asking the department coordinator would be the best way to go about it. Better to get a solid sense of funding then wait!
  15. No problem! I honestly would recommend asking your POI these questions! I think they would be transparent about their funding capabilities and it's a good sign that she said you both can come up with a plan together! I attended an info session last Nov and the department coordinator said that they typically help students apply for funding -- so I would definitely confirm with your POI and the graduate director after receiving your offer!
  16. Can I ask if this is UCLA? It seems like UCLA is notorious for their funding. I think you could reach out to the graduate director too and see how students are usually funded. You could ask about the fellowships/TA-ships offerred and what their yield rates are. There may also be funding opportunities within the school's graduate division that you could potentially apply to as well.
  17. I think USC does rolling admissions. I saw acceptances for the HBR program in early Jan and I was recently accepted to the HBR program earlier this week (had an informal interview with the POI mid Jan). It may vary by department, but it seems like its a continuous process.
  18. have not seen any movement for UC's, so hopefully that's coming soon!!!
  19. It's been sooo quiet for Sociology! Looks like previous years had more traffic around this time -- hoping we hear something soon!
  20. Saw someone was contacted by a PI at UC Irvine a few days ago! Can I ask if the professor emailed you for an interview or invited you to prospective student visit day? ty!
  21. Hello! Not a Soc applicant, but I also applied to UCLA and received an ID number as well. I agree with @Klutch2381that it unfortunately doesn't seem to mean anything. I've received student id numbers from institutions in the past for undergrad and grad applications, and some of them ended in rejections. I think most applicants are assigned ID numbers to help with the processing. Regardless, manifesting good news for all of us
  22. hello! Has anyone heard from UC Irvine? Historically, applicants were notified of some kind of informal interview over MLK weekend and these emails seemed to trickle throughout that week. If UCI is continuing a similar timeline, seems like some should have already heard back / will be notified in the coming days?
  23. congrats to the poster for USC health behavior!! It looks like they're sending out notifications in waves given some people were accepted last week :') would whoever posted be comfortable in sharing how they were notified (email, portal, call)? ty and congrats again!!
