  1. Hmm, they don't have any graduate program in the Classics. This might not be the best place to ask that question. You can probably get better answers from other forums more related to you field. Best of luck! Edit: typo
  2. @JohnNobody If it's a two year program, then it ends in the spring of 2025. You apply in the fall of 2024 when the applications open. You will get the results sometime in the spring of 2025. If admitted, you will start in the fall of 2025. In that case, there won't be a break in you funding, except the summer of 2025, but hopefully that's something you can plan ahead for. Also, congrats on the funded MA!
  3. I know the feeling! I applied a total of three rounds. All rejections the first time around (I still remember exactly where I was when I got the last two rejections back to back 🙁). Only one admit in the second round, but it's a funded MA so that's awesome. Did much better the third time and got into my current program. Fingers crossed for you! 🤞
  4. @screwdriverfemme thanks for starting this thread! What are your areas of interest?
  5. Congrats!! ???
  6. Fingers crossed for you! ?
  7. ? Congrats!! ?
  8. Congrats on the interview and best of luck! When I was applying, I considered Brown, but it was the only one on my shortlist of programs that required GRE. So I ended up not applying to it. Is GRE still required this year?
  9. That sucks. ?. But don't give up! And best of luck with all your other applications!
  10. That's AWESOME! Congrats! ? ? One of my best campus visits was at UChicago!
  11. Congrats! Time to celebrate! ??
  12. That's fantastic! Hope the interview went well and fingers crossed!
  13. "tortuous" is a pretty accurate description! If it's any consolation, last year prospective students began their campus visit for Cornell in early March, so if I were to guess - and this is no more than a guess - hopefully you would hear back from them about a decision in late February? Though I wouldn't read too much in to it even if you don't hear from them by then.
  14. Last year, Princeton Classics sent out at least some of the interview invites at the very end of January. Of course, it could be different this year. But good luck!
  15. Good luck!
  16. Congrats on the interview! Cornell Classics is fantastic.
  17. Sorry for the late response! Different programs conduct their interviews differently. Some are more formal and technical while others are more relaxed. Definitely know your own writing sample! I stumbled on one of the questions about my writing sample and the whole interview just went south after that. ? Also be prepared to talk about your research interests and how you want to approach them. Other than that, just be yourself instead of who you think the committee wants. Be confident, but if you don't know the answer to something, just be honest about it. There's no point of faking it. Usually they can tell. I'd also tell you to relax and be calm, but I know it's easier said than done! Best of luck!
  18. Congrats on the interviews and acceptance!! ??
  19. Congrats on the interview invites, @applyingforfall2023 and @Fall2023Classics! And best of luck! I screwed up one of my interviews so badly that even now I still cringe a little when I think about it. lol
  20. Welcome! Fingers crossed for you! ?
  21. Congrats on the Oxford acceptance! ?
  22. I know the feeling! The first time I applied, I got all rejections and I still remember exactly where I was when I received my last two rejections. I hope it works out for you and everyone else this round, but don't give up! I also did an MA before PhD. It definitely made me a stronger candidate when applied for PhD later. Here's an updated list of all the funded Classics MA/pre-doc/post-bacc programs in North America (plus one or two in Europe I think). Applications for some of them are still open. They should be open to international students, too, but don't take my word for it, and check with the programs. If you (or anyone else!) have any other questions or just want to chat, let me know!
  23. When I applied to UChicago through Classics last year, I got the interview invite at the beginning of January and got the decision at the end of the month. Of course, that's last year and in any case NELC might follow a different schedule. Fingers crossed for you and everyone else!
  24. For UChicago, are you applying through Classics or through Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations?
  25. *summoning @Archaeogirl* ?
