  1. I second what TsaranfProphet said. I'll only add that if you can, find a book that comes with answer keys for the exercises. Not all of them do. Having an answer key makes a huge difference for self study. It also helps quite a bit to have someone who's proficient in the language you will be studying, whether a faculty, a grad student, a friend, etc. so that if you get stuck on anything and the textbook/answer key provide no insight, you have someone to turn to. Answer keys are invaluable, but there are limits to what they are suitable for.
  2. Ugh, that sucks. Best of luck! And know that we are all here for you just as you have been here for all of us. ?
  3. Well, that's unexpected and unusual, considering many programs are taking fewer applicants this cycle. Good news though, and I hope it'll be of benefit to someone.
  4. I second @AnxiousAwaiter's suggestion of the CUNY Latin/Greek Institute. I did their Upper-level Latin program last summer and it was a tremendously rewarding experience. The LGI also has tuition scholarships you can apply for. They even have a fellowship specifically for art students. The Society of Classical Studies is another potential funding source you can look into. However, you might be out of luck if you want to do their Basic Program in Greek this year as they are only offering the Upper-level Programs this summer. But they will offer Basic Programs in Greek and Latin again in summer 2022.
