  1. Awesome! Me, too! Did you interview? I heard some JHU DrPH applicants had interviews, but I didn't see anyone from the HESJ track . . . Curious if you had one.
  2. Anyone apply to the JHU DrPH in Health Equity and Social Justice?
  3. Ok! Welp. Thanks for the update! I heard from a previous grad about the second interview business. He was fairly certain, but that he doesn’t work for admissions.
  4. Hey! I think there are three or four of us on this forum who had interviews. The deadline to complete round 1 was the 28th. My guess is that admissions would then decide on round 2 interviews this week. Anyone else who had an interview get a second?
  5. Nothing on my end. But I was under the impression interviews were only given on an as-needed basis, per previous years. Anyone know differently?
  6. Hey! I know several people currently working full time jobs doing the JHU DrPH. It's doable. Their courses are online, but they have you come once or twice a year for week long intensives. https://publichealth.jhu.edu/academics/drph/curriculum Go to this page, scroll to the bottom, click on whichever Concentration/Track you're interested in, scroll to the bottom, you'll see the curriculums.
  7. Yea! I doubled checked with Tulane admissions, and they confirmed it's just accept/reject. Also, they said decisions come out early March which is a change from when they told me it was late March/early April . . .
  8. Hey! Nearly positive it's just accept/reject/waitlist. No interviews.
  9. A big focus was on the components of their program, what about those particular components were compelling for me, and what I offered in return. Another focus was on values and where I wanted to take the degree.
  10. DrPH, yes. Two faculty members. It went ok. I felt good afterward, but then I realized I missed some key opportunities to tell my story that I wish I had back. Ah well.
  11. Hey! I hear you. I had one interview, and it was only an hour long, but I really had to fit my schedule around the interviewers' schedule on a super busy day for me--one I normally only work a half day for because I'm sort of "on stage" facilitating and teaching all morning. I did it, but the ball is really in their court. I'm not sure if they'd care for feedback . . .
  12. I'll surely let you know my impressions. Thank you for the kindness. My hope is to present my aspirations and grounded dreams to the best of my ability and to assess whether or not it is a good fit for me. A big deep breath.
  13. Yes, that's right. I have an interview this coming week. I don't know anyone else though. I heard from a previous graduate that Harvard does two rounds of interviews, but I'm not sure what that entails. I was told that all interviews (in round 1?) must be completed by the end of January.
  14. Thanks for this, Andrew Seth a. I’m a bit confused, too. But I know some Harvard DrPH interviews are being scheduled. Anyone know about BU DrPH? I think I’ve read that Hopkins DrPH doesn’t do routine interviews? Can anyone confirm?
  15. Hey! I just did some interview prep with folks from my institution. It was wonderfully helpful. Review all your application materials. See if you can get someone to ask you clarifying questions about what you wrote. And then make sure you explain or assess the familiarity with your interests to the interviewers. You may need to educate them on aspects of your ideas. Panels can be uncomfortable. Especially if everyone feels impersonal or stone faced. But stick with it! It’s so hard to read people in that setting, so it’s better to lean into what got you the interview in the first place.
  16. Hey, y’alls! If you feel so inclined, there’s a page on grad cafe for updates on interviews/acceptances/rejections. https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/post.php More streamlined.
  17. I feel you! When I submitted my applications, I felt so at peace. Now that there is a trickle of info, and schools are on the move toward selection, it just got real. Having to do so much meditation. Just to keep some degree of regulation. To be human . . .
  18. My DrPH applications focus on building a statewide theory of change between nonprofits, major public university, and government entities toward a global approach to public health, broadly defined.
