  1. Hey! Oh, yeas, there was indeed a misundertanding on my side. Thank you for the information regarding the rent subsidy. I am upset because the booklet did not mention the "Kaltmiete", only that if I spend 30% of my scholarship on rent, they help. They don't, anyways, thanks. I'm sorry for your situation with the deposit! I also have to transfer that until 1 October, and it's quite a struggle. I hope you'll make it! Best,
  2. Hi! I applied too, but no answer yet. I'm sure it will take a couple of weeks to receive a response. Anyways, I am not hoping for much after I read their info sheet that they only made available on 1 September. It says that they will calculate the rent subsidy based on your "kaltmiete", meaning the rent you have to pay without the utilities. I am going to live in a micro-apartment where I have to pay €505 per month anyways, irrespectively of my consumption of water, internet etc. In addition, I'll have to pay the Rundfunkgebühr for the TV (everyone has to pay, even if you don't have TV, it's around 15€ per month). I'll also pay a 150€ service fee when I move in, that is sth like a "Community Pauschale" that everyone living there has to pay. But according to the infosheet they calculate the rent subsidy based on your rent without utility costs, so in my case they will check the number in the contract that is 370€ (although the 505€ final cost is also indicated in the contract), and if I am lucky they will give me 10€ rent subsidy (scholarship is 1200€). I think it's a bit unfair because all together I'll spend around 530€ on rent per month, which is almost half of my scholarship, and I did not have any chance to find a cheaper option because everything was sucked up by the time they made the scholarship decision. So let's hope! How is your situation, what do you expect?
  3. They didn't ask for my bank account but I think it's becaue I had an MA scholarship a few years ago and in the DAAD Portal I had my old German bank account number. I went to personal data to change it, and I changed it to a non-German account. We'll see what they say to that, I hope I don't have to open a German one.
  4. I received my acceptance letter, finally it's over! Don't give up guys, it can still come. For the ones who did not make it this year, try another time! Fingers crossed for the rest of you!
  5. No change yet, still paper copies received. For 7 months already. The endgame has to come soon.
  6. I guess so! I'm also an applicant for PhD long term stay and there is no interview IMHO. For MA applicants there is, and I guess also for the ones who are going for a full PhD program to Germany.
  7. Same here, no changes. Paper copies received.
  8. Many of us applied on 15 November, my deadline was 1 December 2020. It's been the 7th month... I'm aging...
  9. And today is again a bank holiday in Germany,Fronleichnam. So it's only tomorrow this week, but that is Friday so I don't see much chance to get results. See you next week ??
  10. At least in the next sentence now they acknowledged that the two weeks is for them to know, but they need to assemble the letters, which is at least one additional week to the two.
  11. It does not matter, if your program is two academic years then they give 24 months of funding. If it is only one academic year, they give one year of funding.
  12. BTW I was selected 6 years ago for MA all disciplines, and I received the notification on 19 May 2015. So this May scheduling is not at all COVID related, seems like they are delayed most of the time.
  13. This week is probably off. Next Monday is bank holiday in Germany if I'm not mistaken, so it's gonna be only four days for work - not good for us.
