I was expecting to hear in January for May and had an email mid December!

Hi all, Congratulations to everyone who has gotten in and good luck in your next applications to everyone else I shared earlier in the thread that I was accepted to WLU advanced standing for May. So far I've only found two other classmates. The nature of these programs is you could be a competitive applicant in one round and not in another without changing anything other than the others who apply. It's so hard not to be discouraged. Have you applied for other programs? A lot of current social workers have been stressed to the max during the pandemic and took the last two years to think about their careers. We are likely seeing people apply who hadn't otherwise considered it but were newly motivated. I'm so sorry and good luck! I was accepted to WLU so I'm happy to help anyone or look at applications.

Did you apply for May as well? I wouldn't expect a decision to come while they're closed for the holidays; it looks like they hit send before going out of office! ? They'll probably send out the next round this week or next, I had to January 7 to accept!

I clicked the link in the email and it brought me to LORIS. It was in the application section after I clicked on my program. Thank you!! Now to kill time to May ps if anyone else gets in fr here I do have a fb group started!!

hi! I applied recently to the May '22 start at Laurier. I'm only applying to distance schools this go around, because I have a full time job and a mortgage! I've been volunteering or working in the field since ~2007 ahead of my BSW start. Background: ~25,000 hours of paid/volunteer social work experience (residential youth care-2yr, child protection-3yr, emergency social services-5yr, disaster services-5yr, two BSW placements, forensic mental health); 20k was after BSW 2011 3.4/4 BSW, 2021 3.5/4 BA in Law/Sociology and Psych, Indigenous Studies certificate 88.3% over last ten courses (30 CH) 80% over last twenty courses (60 CH) 81% over last ten BSW courses Research assistant/teaching assistant for two semesters during BSW Considering a thesis route and was approached by someone in my field of interest based on coursework completed during my BA/Indigenous Studies Cert so having an existential crisis over that, but that is for another day to solve!
