Hi! Does anyone know how many people are on the waitlist for Western? I know they'll tell us which quadrant we're in, but has anyone asked approx. how many people are waitlisted? -

Hi all! This is my second time applying! I applied this past cycle and was waitlisted at Western. My GPA is on the lower end (3.63/4) but thankfully I started working as an SLPA earlier this year when I graduated from undergrad. I'm hoping this experience will help me this time around Feeling super nervous, does anyone who is in the program have advice for writing the statements for UofT and Western? Any advice will help:) thanks and good luck to everyone this round! -

Congrats to those of you who got accepted! I've been waitlisted for Western and noticed in the email it says they don't release info on our exact position on the waiting list. This is my first time applying and I'm seeing some people talking about being in a quadrant and this being information that they released in the past, could someone explain that to me please? Thanks! -

I was just looking at the dates on ORPAS (been really anxious haha), this means the offers will start to roll out April 3rd if I'm understanding this correctly, right? Like we won't all get offers and/or rejections this same date? -

Hi everyone! This is my first time applying and I'm very nervous as I looked into pursuing SLP really late in my undergrad :(( I don't have significant experience volunteering for an SLP because I discovered it during the pandemic so I've only had the chance to help out an SLP online with making material for them but not consistently. However, I've worked in a cognitive development research lab at my university for a little over 2 years and am the director/coordinator now. Is this experience that would be really valuable despite my lack of experience with SLPs? That's one of the things that's made me nervous as I work on my SOI. Also, if someone could please explain how ORPAS calculates our sub-GPA that would be extremely helpful. ?I've taken summer school every summer, and I'm only taking 3 classes (0.5 credits each) this semester, so I'm still not exactly sure how they calculate it, slightly confused. Good luck to everyone this admission cycle!! -
Hi, I'm currently in my third year of undergrad in psychology and have started to give some thought to what I might want to do later on. I came across SLP and have been spending some time to research about the job and aspects of it. I have started to look at the graduate program requirements and am thinking about whether is can be am option for me. I have completed most of the pre-requisite courses (only missing 1 or 2 depending on the graduate program) but I've never volunteered in a clinical setting. I am able to finish taking the required courses I'm missing, but in terms of the volunteering, is it too late to get started? Currently I've been working in a child development psychology research lab for a bit over a year as a research assistant and recruitment coordinator, however it's with a psychologist and I have absolutely no experience working or shadowing a SLP. I really want to know what others think about whether it's too late to get volunteering done since I'm already in my third year and will be graduating next school year. If not, where in Ontario can you volunteer?? Thank you!
