Just got my Duke rejection. I will probably accept the Chapel Hill offer since my partner already got rejected from Brown and we want to try to stay in the same area. With that said, I will probably be not using this site as frequently and focusing more on the next steps. This whole process has been pretty rough on my mental health. For those of you still waiting, best of luck! I hope the tides go in your favor

@SPGR_22 I wouldn't worry too much about that. I received a rejection from some schools and my application still said "being processed" or "submitted", so the portal clearly doesn't always align with the most current update. You should get notified one way or the other via email Best of luck!

@SPANGRAD22I genuinely hope that you hear back soon. My email was actually quite disappointing. It was a generic email that wasn't from anyone in the department, rather the "Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid". Even a generic email from the DGS would have been better

@SPANGRAD22 I still haven't heard anything from them either. I reached out three weeks ago and they said last Friday decisions would be out so I don't have a single clue what the delay is ? Hoepfully we hear back soon!

I suppose that I can assume rejection from NYU since I did not get an interview...oh well. That definitely sucks but it is what it is

@MillerS I know right...I feel the same way about Boston, the wait is torturous! I emailed them 13 days ago and they told me "within the next 2 weeks" was when they expected to give results. NYU told me they were aiming for last Friday and I still haven't heard anything from them either. I am assuming that things came up that delayed the decisions, especially with that giant snowstorm in the northeast a few weeks ago :')

Hi everyone! I am from NC but don't have a lot of experience with the Triangle area. I received an offer from UNC and my partner has an interview at Duke, so a UNC-Duke combo (ironically enough) is looking very possible. If this is our situation, then what would the best living situation be? Are there good housing options between Durham and CH, or would it be reasonable to live in one city (or a place like carrboro on the outskirts) if the other person has to drive back and forth to campus? Also, if anyone goes to school in that area and wants to connect regardless of discipline, please feel free to message me I would love to get to know people in the area since it is the most likely scenario.

Follow up- I emailed my POI and she basically said if I wasn't interviewed then I was not going to get in. It was a kind email where she told me that I had really strong materials but they just didn't have a lot of funding this year. This rejection stings a little since I thought I had a really strong application, but oh well. Life goes on and I am still very excited for my UNC acceptance.

Still haven’t heard anything. Probably a bad sign, I should probably start mentally preparing myself for the worst case scenario.
