  1. congrats!!! If you aren't familiar with the school or the area, I'm happy to share info. I completed my undergrad at Mac and I'm familiar with some of the admitting faculty. That invitation is open to anyone else who got accepted as well!
  2. Hi everyone, I previously mentioned that I got an offer for York's Adult Clinical MA program, and I accepted it today. I also interviewed at Western and McMaster, so the pool of potential students has gotten just a tiny bit smaller now. Best of luck to everyone!!
  3. Does anyone know current grad students at Western? I'm trying to get an idea of what current students think of the program without depending on the students who are involved in the interview day
  4. I got accepted to the Adult Clinical MA program about a week ago. I got my acceptance letter and everything's been updated in MyFile.
  5. it depends on the school. A lot have reached out, but some are always later (OISE being the example I know of). Also, for people asking about uOttawa interviews, I believe there is no "interview day" - that's what I was told. Profs interview on their own schedule, to whatever level they deem appropriate, and I believe they make decisions in late February/ early March.
  6. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't move forward! It's probably difficult right now, but I hope you feel a sense of accomplishment for getting the pre-interview in the first place. No worries if you aren't comfortable responding, but did you get an email saying you will not be moving forward? Or did you find out another way?
  7. It was from the program coordinator. They are sending the emails out one by one, I think. Because mine had my name and a specific time on it.
  8. York's profs reach out and conduct interviews on their own schedule, and might also have students interview with grad students. There is an open house this Friday at 1pm, but there is no "interview day" and the open house is not mandatory. I know that at least a couple of profs have conducted interviews or are currently in the process of doing so.
  9. I heard back about an informal interview, so I wouldn't worry unless your PI of interest is AS
  10. My formal invite required that we accept the interview by Wednesday at 5pm EST. So if they do plan on sending out more, it could be the case that they'll wait until people say yes or no to the ones sent on Friday
  11. I have interviewed with EK at Western
  12. This is also my first time applying, so anyone who knows more, please add to this! But I want to start of by saying it's normal if you haven't heard from any schools yet. Most interview invites go out in January and February. Every school has a different timeline. And on top of that, profs at one school may all reach out to students at different times for initial/informal interviews, especially because it's the holidays. Rough estimates of formal interview days are listed by some schools. For example, Western's website says "Applicants who are short-listed for 2022 admission will be invited to an Interview Day. Email notifications to short-listed applicants will be sent in mid-January."
  13. I was wondering if anyone could help me understand what the purpose of an informal interview is, how I can prepare for it, etc. If I'm lackluster in the informal interview, do I not get the invite to the formal interview?
  14. The only school I've heard back from so far is York, and it was the individual prof so I don't think others should necessarily start stressing out. I also applied to SFU and haven't heard anything.
