  1. Come on UBC-O, you told us end of April! I feel like I'm waiting for a first date to text me back lol
  2. Like many of you, I'm constantly watching gradcafe and refreshing application portals, but I'm gonna take a few week breather by not checking gradcafe or the portals - when the decision email comes, it comes. Best of luck to you all during this waiting game
  3. From previous years, it seems UBCO lets advanced standing people know first. Perhaps when they view an application is determined first by which stream it's for and then when it was submitted. However, I also heard they don't release their waitlist, the merely send out acceptances in batches. All I know at this point is that I'm desperate to hear from them lol.
  4. I thought I would chime in as well because I also applied to UBCO for the 2-year. I believe I got the "your file is under review" email in December, and I have yet to hear from them.
  5. I submitted my application for the UBC-O 2 year program in November and in early December received an email from the UBC-O College of Graduate Studies saying my application was being reviewed by the program; with all that, mine still says "In Progress". I hope this helps!
  6. To my knowledge, UBC-Okanagan and UBC-Vancouver have different applications (even their personal statement questions are different), so I don’t think the UBC-O info session would be applicable to UBC-Vancouver
  7. At one of their online info sessions someone asked this question, and I believe their response was that citations are not needed; unless, of course, you are using ideas that are not your own. Personally, I included citations because: i) I made reference to studies and theories that related to my topic of interest, and; ii) it asks to base our response on academic literature. Of course, this is all dependent on your writing style, so I doubt they will look at your response unfavourably if you don't use references. I hope this helps and good luck with the personal statement
  8. Hi everyone! I have been lurking for a long time and decided to finally join in I have applied to foundational programs at UofC, UofT, and UBC-O. I also received an email about the JOINid from UofT, then later got an email stating my student number. A few weeks ago I received an email from UBC-O College of Graduate Studies saying my application was being reviewed by the program, but this might be because I submitted it way back at the beginning of November. Best of luck to you all!
