    Hi everyone. I haven't been posting here but just want to let everyone know that I receive the rejection letter from CMU, and I finally decided to go to VCU. Haven't received scholarship from Calarts maybe because I didn't pay the deposit. lol

    Thank you for your sharing! These are really valuable information. I am accepted by KI and am mostly concerned about the facility--do KI students get to use facilities from other departments, like cinema program or photo+filmmaking? Also, since Richmond is pretty far away from some cities with major art network resources, do VCU's have good alumni network that could assist their students in finding opportunities?

    Hi Eric, I saw your posts and it's really nice of you to keep posting even after graduation for the upcoming mfa applicants. I'm Leilei, a newly accepted VCU applicant tho I haven't decided on whether I should go there. I also applied to Kinetic Imaging and have applied to schools like CalArts for experimental animation ( I saw you was accepted by CalArts, tho probably for different major). I guess our backgrounds are sort of similar so your experience will be very valuable for me. So one of the big thing I wonder is if VCU KI is well-equipped. I saw that they have a cinema program for BFA, and I wonder if KI students can borrow equipments from their program, as I didn't see very fancy facilities for KI department yet...Also I am an animator, tho my discipline is changing but I might still do some animation work. Do you observe that VCU has enough facility for animation such as stop-motion or good enough computer to render 3D animation? Thank you so much! Have a great day

    I've seen people get accepted from waitlist, even with a full tuition offer, so stay hopeful!

    I received the offer from VCUarts Kinetic Imaging with full tuition offer (as long as they don't run out of funding ?） and I am still waiting for CalArts and CMU Does anyone know more about VCUarts? and does anyone familiar with their kinetic imaging program? I also got official rejection from RISD (finally...I know they are not gonna accept me but it's really annoying how they send stuff so late) so right now my results are KMD-accepted VCU (Kinetic Imaging)-accepted Calarts (Experimental Animation )-interviewed, waiting for results CMU (Fine Arts)-interviewed, waiting results RISD (D+M)-rejected SAIC (FVNMA)-rejected UCB (Art Practice)- nothing heard

    Sorry I replied late. I don't feel very well on my interview I was having a serious cold and the interview time was after midnight, which is really late for me. So I was feeling quite dizzy when I was interviewing and stuck for several questions... Not feeling very good anyway, but I hope your interview went well!

    My interview is yet to come ? mine is on 26th. But I do have interviewed KMD, and the interview is just asking very specific question about the portfolio, like the difficulties and what I found in the process, which are really easy to answer as you must have very deep feelings about those.
