They offered me 15k/semester, almost 50%, I should have emailed them and tried to haggle for more but I got so excited I accepted right away, I also wasn’t sure if they really offered any more than this based on what people had said in past forums, now into trying to figure out any potential outside scholarships/loans

Yesterday I got my acceptance to Pratt with a generous scholarship, I was really hoping for Tulane originally but then yesterday I was almost feeling like I’d be disappointed if I got into Tulane because I feel like I would have no choice but take the free ride but was starting to get really excited for Pratt. Couple hours later I got my official rejection from Tulane! My decision has pretty much been made, Pratt it is!!!! I got into SVA too but so far it’s looking like all I got for scholarship is $5,000 a year possible work study? Ever since my interview with Pratt I’ve been the most excited about their program so I think what was supposed to happen did!!!!!!!

No word at all from Tulane, I’m considering emailing them but also can just assume I’m not in and I’m not ready to hear them say it yet so I might just keep waiting and waiting

Got my official rejection for U of O tonight. This is where I’m at: SVA: accepted Pratt: interviewed Mass Art: interview on Tuesday SAIC: rejected University of Oregon: rejected Tulane: *hopeful but realistically skeptical crickets*

How was the Tulane interview? I haven’t heard anything from them but it was possibly my first choice so trying to keep hope alive!

Just had my Pratt interview! It went well, it was me and 2 members of the faculty, felt conversational and laid back. They brought up my portfolio and had me talk about some of the work, they asked why grad school now, they asked about my future goals, and how I wanted the audience to experience the work. I get so nervous and scrambled but just gotta breathe and pretend I am a calm person! And then of course they asked if I had questions for them which always trips me up, I feel like in the past I would ask super specific random questions but this time I asked them what makes Pratt stand out in their eyes and that seemed like a better question that they were able to elaborate on more. If anyone has good suggestions for what kind of questions to ask I will take them in case I have any more interviews!!

Yeah let’s hope!! Time to focus on my Pratt interview later today, anyone else already interview with them yet?

Still waiting on U of O too but I did apply for sculpture ? This is my 3rd time around applying to grad schools and it really feels like now or never, I can’t go through this again so just trying to let go and believe what is meant for me will come but accepting the unknown is so tough right now

My updates: interviewed with SVA a couple weeks ago, rejected from SAIC a couple days ago, and requested to interview with Pratt a couple minutes ago! Still waiting on word from University of Oregon, MassArt, and Tulane, applied to all for Sculpture/Fine Arts. Good luck out there all, can’t wait to just have my answers and take a break from refreshing my email constantly!!

Interviewed with SVA a week or so ago, but still waiting to hear from University of Oregon, SAIC, MassArt, Pratt, and Tulane…. I saw some of y’all got interviews from Oregon, SAIC, and MassArt, anyone heard from Pratt? Tulane deadline was on the 1st so I figure they’ll be a little slower coming out… Figuring I didn’t get into U of O, SAIC, and MassArt since I haven’t heard but trying to stay hopeful, getting real sick of constantly checking my email, but grateful for this forum and all of your updates and support!!

I’m eagerly awaiting word from Oregon too, my concentration is Fiber/Sculpture, hope to hear from them soon, I was pretty excited about that program

All the people getting SAIC interviews, did you apply by the December 1st priority deadline? I didn’t get mine in until a few days before the final January 10th deadline Also not feeling too confident about SAIC, I applied for Sculpture but then realized too late that my work would fit much more with their Fiber concentration

I just interviewed with SVA Fine Arts yesterday and it was pretty laid back and conversational! Also applied to Pratt but no word from them yet. Good luck!! ?

It feels less active right now but last year this time we were only on page 9 or 10 and it got up to 67 pages so we’re just riding the crest of this wave right now!

I’m still waiting for a word from SVA but I’m thinking my application was considered late because I didn’t realize I needed to submit my statement in the application and slideroom and didn’t submit it in the application till 5 days after the deadline… ?

Hi all! Third year applying for me. Three years ago right out of undergrad I applied to SVA and Pratt. I was waitlisted at Pratt and ultimately rejected, and I got accepted to SVA but not offered much funding, and then when the pandemic hit I decided to wait regardless. Last year I applied to Hunter only and got rejected. This year I’m spreading my options! Applying to SVA, Pratt, MassArt, SAIC, Tulane, and University of Oregon. Still trying to finish my applications, I keep getting really stuck with the Statements of Purpose, think I’m getting it done but the prompts are sometimes so vague that I don’t know which direction to go in! Really ready for this to be the year, I miss school, I miss mentors, I miss being in an artsphere with endless resources!

Yeah, I think I focused too much on price, location, and studio size and not enough on how my art would fit it. Felt all along that my style of art was different than what I was seeing but kept telling myself everyone's style of art is different. Next year I'll focus somewhere I can see myself fitting in aesthetically and worry less about the price tag cause if they want you they'll give you money! Good luck with the torturous waiting, hope you end up getting accepted but if not see you next year maybe!

Got my hunter rejection too ? Only school I applied to, guess I'm outta the game for this year, maybe see some of you on the forums next year! If I try again I'll definitely apply to a few schools. Almost a relief from the stress of waiting and refreshing my email 10x a minute!

Keep telling myself I'll get my Hunter interview request within 24 hours of the full moon which is tomorrow at 11:57am EST, hoping the moon's gravitational pull can pull good news out of the admissions committees and into our inboxes!! ???

Aw I feel you, I only applied to Hunter and the anticipation is overwhelming! Feels risky putting all my eggs in one basket but it was the school that seemed like the best fit so I didn't see the point applying to school that didn't feel right! Best of luck to us both!!!

Hunter interviews will probably go out next week based on past forums but the closer it gets the harder it is to wait!! Just woke up from a dream that I received the interview request email but then it wasn't actually, just a promotional email, can't even catch a break when I'm unconscious!!
