  1. ** i'd also just like to add that i emailed my contact POI for sociology admissions at Maryland (beth floyd) twice, and i still didn't receive a response. i emailed once on 2/28/2022 and another time 03/30/2022 asking the same question ("my application status still says "Application Submitted," when will i know my official decision?"), and she has yet to respond. this is beyond extremely unprofessional. i have never experienced anything like this.
  2. i'm in the exact same boat— no acceptance, no rejection, nothing. it's quite unprofessional if i'm being honest. maryland was, honestly, one of my top choices, too. it's a shame.
  3. reached out to UVA, and the director of graduate admissions let me know that decisions should be going out by tonight! i'll take the lack of an explicit acceptance as a rejection. <3 good luck to all of you!
  4. i'm for real over here cracking up because apparently everyone is receiving rejections, acceptances, and waitlists from schools that have yet to even email me back... it's lowkey like i'm invisible
  5. i asked them on january 28th when they sent out initial acceptances, and the response i got back was: "The committee is currently reviewing the applications, yours is in the review. Decisions will be going out in the next couple of weeks." however, like arizona, i'm crossing them off my list!
  6. just saw some acceptances from arizona but haven't heard anything from them... i'm going to take it as a soft rejection </3 rip, everyone
  7. hi there! i, too, applied to cornell, and i haven't heard anything back. though, i am still able to login to my activity page to see my application and application checklist and the like. if you're worried, email the department to ask and make sure they received all of your materials!
  8. can attest to the above ^ comment. i received a "likely letter" of admission to the university of iowa over a week ago but didn't receive my official letter of acceptance until this morning. it was because the committee wanted to nominate me for a special fellowship that they wanted to discuss with me first.
  9. oh. my. lord. everyone. hello! i have been trying to create an account since last wednesday to comment on this thread to no avail. anyway, greetings! i received my acceptance from the university of iowa's sociology phd program last wednesday (on my birthday)! super exciting! other than iowa's acceptance (and washu's rejection), i've been kind of in the dark. i didn't set my standards very high, so i didn't apply to many places. i'm applying straight from undergrad. didn't take the gre. no significant research experiences. 'twas a doozy. meh, anyway. has anyone heard anything from bu, arizona, cornell, or virginia? i contacted maryland, and received an email back that said: "The committee is currently reviewing the applications, yours is in the review. Decisions will be going out in the next couple of weeks." however, i already saw they sent out some acceptances, so my hopes are slightly low, lmao. just wanted to come on here and ask!
