  1. Hi, I have a warning for anyone thinking about attending UW-Seattle: a TERF is in the first year MFA cohort. I heard she has been a disruptive presence/bully. It's a really small program, so beware.
  2. Hi, I just got admitted to the University of Washington Photo/Media! They are kinda pressuring me to make a decision in the next couple weeks, but there are still a couple schools I haven't heard back from. The other schools I applied to are(all photo): Massart-interview-said they would get back to me in "early April" U of Arizona-Accepted with tuition waiver & TAship UCLA-nothing Yale-denied Good luck to everyone as admission decisions roll in!
  3. Hi everyone, I just got an admission offer to UW!
  4. Hi, I applied to UCLA photo and have not heard anything back either. At this point I'm assuming rejection . When I first considered applying to MFA programs UCLA was my top choice, but now I'm not sure. A professor at another program that I talked to had some pretty negative things to say about UCLA's program. Apparently the professors at UCLA don't have much time for students and the other students in the cohort aren't willing to critique each other's work. Take this with a grain of salt, but I see no reason for that professor to lie to me. The other schools I applied to are: MassArt-Interview U of Arizona-Accepted UW Seattle-Interview Yale-Rejected
  5. I just had an interview with MassArt for photo. It was slightly less than half an hour, and kinda chaotic. There were three professors and two students, but the students didn't say much. They had me give a slideshow of my portfolio over zoom. Apparently the image quality over zoom was way better than the portfolio viewer they used for our applications. It was hard to keep track of the questions they were asking while advancing my slides. Once the professors warmed up to me, they started making some sassy comments. Overall though it was a fun and conversational interview.
  6. Hi, I've been lurking here too. I just had my interview with Photo/Media today. It was a fairly relaxed one-on-one interview. The only question that caught me a by surprise was when I was asked what qualities I possess that would make me a good teacher. I got the impression they take TAing very seriously. Good Luck!
