    Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself. That’s a really tough list and I think it’s amazing that you’re even applying! This MFA stuff really is a crapshoot, and while the writing sample is very important, a bit of luck comes into the play when it comes to admissions. One of my creative writing professors described it as a “numbers game.” I really do think it’s possible that you can get into UNM, and I know that Iowa spreads out notifications so you still have a chance. Regardless of what happens though, keep your head held high and be proud of yourself because you still did an awesome job!

    I saw someone get accepted for poetry on the draft last night. But that’s all I’ve seen.

    Does Syracuse notify everyone the same day or is it spread out a little bit? Really anxious right now, keep checking my phone at work haha

    i’m also waiting on V tech, and i got the same email. it said “some years” they do this. so it’s possible they might not be doing interviews and instead will just begin accepting people at the beginning of march.

    i’m also waiting on Syracuse for fiction. Fingers crossed for the both of us. however i am pretty sure michigan gave out acceptances rejections and waitlists already. or at least that’s what it seemed like on the draft page.

    Got an email from Chantel Acevedo, I have an interview with University of Miami for fiction! Super excited, my grandma lives in Florida haha

    i’m not sure how many applicants they accept for each genre but since they do interviews, i like to think it’s spread out (they probably want to interview waitlisted people too). one of my good friends also applied there for fiction, so i’m hoping the best for the two of you! good luck!!

    hey. i saw one person on draft get interviewed for fiction. it happened on the same day that poetry interviews went out. not sure if the interview requests are spread out though, as i only saw one fiction person get emailed. hope this helps!

    hey, if it helps at all, i just graduated college last semester and applied. i got accepted to ohio state and waitlisted at alabama. you definitely have a chance!

    lol i do prefer ohio state over alabama, but i’m trying to be open minded and see what my options are before i make a decision.

    aw thank you so much. i applied to 12 programs. alabama, minnesota (twin cities), ohio state, syracuse, wisconsin, vanderbilt, university of miami, michigan, UNCG, virginia tech, notre dame, and UNLV.

    hi everyone. long time lurker, first time poster. this is my first time applying to mfa’s. i just graduated college in the fall, so i’m a little new to all this stuff haha. but i got accepted into ohio state and waitlisted at alabama for fiction. i saw someone on draft post about a waitlist for wisconsin-madison and was wondering if anyone here has been accepted to their program. hope everyone is doing well
