  1. Hi! I think that in the Humanities it is pretty common to do so (is Education part of the Humanities, though?). I am joining a screenshot of a tenured Professor in an Ivy school. Let me know if it is helpful ?
  2. Congratulations @exhaustionandtoast!!! I got into one school too!
  3. Hello! If I were you I would take into account 3 things: - Princeton raised the stipend for the Grad Students (which is important to take into account); - Princeton has new and very strong faculty, some of whom came from Yale => if your area of interest is among theirs, I would consider it as a hint of Princeton as more attractive for these same areas; - Princeton is closer to Philadelphia and New York, whereas Yale is in New Haven (it's up to you to evaluate according to your own criteria) and further from any big city; - Consider the rankings, if you believe in their reliability; My own point of view is that Princeton is a better fit for more traditional philology (at least in Greek), whereas Yale (also because of the joint PhD programs) seems more interdisciplinary and keen to integrate more new approaches. I hope this helped!
  4. Thank you, @ClassicsCandidate! I am still waiting and I don’t have any idea if this is good or bad sign! Any fellow waiters here?
  5. @cs99 thank you for you answer, I followed your advice! A quick update: no news from any program. People told me that is good sign, since the longer the silence, the higher the possibility that people are thinking not to accept their offer. Ideas? ?
  6. @ClassicsCandidate congratulations! I am so happy for you! Do you think I have any chances?
  7. Hello everyone ? Has anyone been admitted to Harvard, Berkeley or Columbia and is thinking of turning off any of these schools? If so, I will feel so relieved, since I am waitlisted there! Thanks in advance ❤️
  8. Hello everyone ? I am an international applicant, in the Humanities with 2 MAs and a not unfair backup plan for PhD (starting September 2023) from my country. After an internship in one Ivy League University this fall, I liked it and decided to apply to PhD programs in the US. I applied only to 4 top universities (all Ivies), overestimating a bit my chances (but I still have my backup plan for next year). I have been interviewed by 3 programs and have not heard back from the fourth. My current situation: rejected from one of them, I have been waitlisted by two others (apparently one of the two waitlists moves a lot since the department doesn't over-admit at all, but one never knows), and still waiting (but without any hope, since I did not get an interview) from the fourth. Do you have an idea of my odds to get in one of those two programs? Thank you in advance to everyone willing to respond ? I have posted the question in another section, I hope this is not a problem...
