Hey everyone! I need help to decide. I have applied to Advance BSW program (2 Years) at York and received acceptance to their sociology program instead of Social Work which i assume would be for 4 years. I have a prior bachelor degree in Business so i don't want to go for another 4 years of hardship to complete a bachelor program. I'm wondering if there is anyone who had a similar experience like this?! I also have accepted the offer for a Social service worker diploma at GBC. I think i will go ahead and decline the offer from York University. I don't see any other option here! I'm still in waitlist for Uoft MSW program

Not an MSW applicant at York but BSW. I reached out to the admission team and the individual called Nicholas from Dean's operation team told me they will keep sending out decisions throughout May!! At this point I'm being so restless not sure how long I have to wait before I get to hear back from them?!

Sorry for the off topic but has anyone applied to the BSW post grad program at York University for this fall? I have been waiting to hear back from them and not to mention the admission team was not being able to provide any answer like when they usually start sending out the decisions. I only applied to Uoft MSW for 2 years and got waitlisted. So, waiting for the decision from York totally got me!

OMG i thought i would never get to hear from someone who has gone through the similar experience but look here you are! This gives me hope. Thank you so much for that. Just in case i don't get in this year, what kind of crisis work/ volunteering do you think i should be looking into so that i can enrich my resume for next year as non BSW background applicant?! Also, would you mind sharing your experience that led you to get accepted into PD-BSW? ?

Hey @DD2021 I really appreciate your comment. I have been doing a volunteering in a family program where i spend 3 hours/week with my client who is a cancer patient.. (e.g. spend quality time/ look after her youngest child if she takes rest/ accompany them to child care centers etc.) But, just like you advised i would try to volunteer in a crisis line so that i can gather more experience. Your suggestions are super helpful. Thanks again

Hello everyone! I am currently in a great dilemma and stuck in one place. I have a bachelor degree in Business and so decided to apply to Uoft 2 years MSW program (non BSW) and got WAITLISTED. I have not applied to any other MSW program. However, I applied to York BSW program (2y postgrad) as a backup and the decision is not out yet. I am concerned that this year i might not be able to get into uni so I decided to go ahead and apply to colleges as well for the SSW program. I do know that SSW graduates get paid less than any BSW/MSW applicants which is very unfortunate but i don't want to waste another year waiting to get into University. In that scenario, Do you guys know if i will be eligible to apply in MSW Advance standing once i finish my 2 year diploma (if i get accepted)? Also, would that be wise to finish college and then right away apply to MSW programs? Or, should i get a more solid experience and then go ahead and apply to MSW? Your feedback is appreciated ?

I'm wondering what's the average number of people get WAITLISTED each year and how many people usually get off the waitlist for uoft 2 year program?! Does anyone know the ratio?

I was 110% sure thar rejection coming on way but just got WAITLISTED for Uoft 2 years MSW program!

Congratulations to everyone who received the offer.I have been waiting to hear back from uoft MSW 2 year. I only applied to uoft for MSW and York for 2 years post grad BSW. At this point i guess It's hopeless to think about Uoft. I believe next they are going to update about the waiting list and rejection.

So happy for you! My last name starts with J. Nothing yet! I think I'm not gonna make it. I would understand if i don't! This is my first time applying and has no similar job experience though i tried hard to connect the dots!
