  1. Congrats to those accepted! For incoming Western SLP students, I am a current Western SLP student (heading into my second year) and I'm looking for 2-3 female roommates for the upcoming year. I live in a fully-furnished rented home in a residential neighbourhood within ~5-minute walk of clinic/classes. It's a super convenient location for the program. My biggest caveat is that there are no parking spots available, so best for those not planning to bring a vehicle. It is right by a bus stop. One room is available for leasing anytime and others will be available by July. Please send me a private message if you'd like more info. Also happy to answer questions about Western's SLP program!
  2. Hello! I'm an SLP student at Western and would be happy to answer a couple questions about the program - I was in your shoes not too long ago. Someone asked about the number of hours/week you spend in class at Western. We currently spend about 18 hours/week in class, which doesn't including the time spent on our placement (which feels a little like working a part-time job while trying to complete 10 courses). Our classes are not evenly spread out at the moment - we have one day where we have 6 hours of classes and one day with no classes (reserved for placement). For the most part our classes are loosely within a 9am-5pm timeframe, though we do have a night class this semester. The days are very full - Monday starts, you blink, and it's Friday again! The first two semesters of Western's program are known for being quite intense (they have to cover a lot of foundational material within a short space of time) - after this, (we're told) the work load gets a little lighter.
