Had my interview with UNLV today. The faculty is so chill and nice. You really get the sense that students and faculty treat each with a great deal of respect and kinship. It was inspiring. Definitely the most positive interview experience I've had in the last 3 years. 😎

Which interview? The UC Riverside interview?
-
May I, ask why you decided to decline offers from Kent and Delaware?

Hi guys! I'm wondering if anybody applied to the MFA program at Ohio State and if they have been contacted (I haven't heard from them at all). I did an interview with UC Riverside last Friday (February 2nd) and I think it went OK.
-
I also applied to the University of Arizona MFA program. Haven't heard back yet.

I feel you on wanting to live alone. But tuition at UCSB is 100% covered. So it's tempting to say the least.
-
I'm still trying to finalize the list lol. But it's definitely looking like University of Arizona, UNLV, UC Riverside, Temple University, and either UCLA/UCSB.

I actually went to an information session last year for UCLA. And it's about 75% fully funded. It all depends if you can negotiate or get a TA ship to get a full tuition waiver.

This is my third year applying for an MFA. The UCLA application process is real tough. The neat thing about the app is that you don't have to worry about letters of recommendation but the offside is that you are gonna have to write quite a lot for the application. UCLA is also mysterious when it comes to reviewing applications you can pretty much expect no communication from the faculty for months afterwards. You'll just simply get notified via email to login to the application portal to find out if you got in or not. Best of Luck! I would email some of the grad students at UMass about the program. There was a guy a few cycles back who said on the forum that the program wasn't to his liking and many of his cohorts ended up dropping out. So I would definitely reach out to some of the people in the program about how they feel the program is supporting them as artists, how the program is setup, or what they are learning about. That's all I got! I wish you great success in this cycle!

It's that time of the year once more. The summer is winding down and applications for Art MFA programs are set to go live soon. Inviting all the prospective MFA Art applicants to share knowledge, info, or rant about the complex process of applying to graduate program in the Arts. 🎨🎠We got this!

Just out of curiosity when did you hear back from UCR? You should shoot them an email and tell them that you are still interested in the program and what the current timeline is for final decisions.

It looks like my MFA 2023 campaign is complete then. Best of luck with the in-person interview 🙂. Martina Lopez seems like an excellent person to learn from 🌟.

When did the faculty reach out for the first interview? Thanks.
-
UCLA turned us into practicing conspiracy theorists. Paranoia, doubt, and wrestling with the truth only to find out the result from the internet.
-
They are too busy hibernating for the winter lol. Still no word from the photo people as well :/.
-
Did you call them up? What did they say? I applied for the Photo Concentration at UCLA and haven't heard anything back. Thanks.
-
Haven't heard from UCLA, Oregon, and Yale yet. I applied with a Photo concentration. Hopefully in the next week we should get some contact.
-
On Monday I received a phone call and email from one of the faculty members (one of my interviewers actually). That's how I found out before the 10th.

I'm still considering Penn (I'm going to visit on the 25th) they really responded positively to my portfolio which is pretty cool. I don't know anyone who applied to UCLA with a Photo concentration whose been contacted by the school lol (I'm not sure what's going on). This is my first cycle of MFA apps and we did pretty good.

Got into the MFA program at Penn (found out Monday). Pretty much received the same offer (just take out student loans to pay for it) lol. Still waiting for UCLA (I applied with a Photo concentration) to establish basic communication. Might end up just applying to MFA programs with rolling deadlines.
