  1. Accepted my offer to McMaster! This will open up a spot at both UofT and Western Good luck everyone
  2. Im sorry! I didn't get an interview last year, but worked really hard to improve my sub-gpa through additional courses. Don't give up! When I received the email last year, it said "your sub-GPA was not high enough to place you in the top 125 applicants invited for a personal interview". It is a little intimidating that they are interviewing 150 this year..
  3. Congratulations to everyone who has received an MMI! Although it is a couple weeks away, I am just wondering if anyone knows of any resources/tips on how to begin preparing? Thanks in advance

  5. I felt the exact same way, I decided last minute to apply to McMaster as I thought my sub-GPA was no where near what it would need to be to even get an interview. I am so happy that I chose to apply anyways! Congratulations
  6. Brock has a Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences certificate which covers a lot of the prerequisite courses! Personally, even though I needed a few of the pre-reqs to apply to the SLP programs, I chose not to do the certificate because it is 10 courses (plus if you did not take first year linguistics you have to complete that as well, making it a total of 11 courses), and I didn't want to take the chance of letting my sub-GPA drop with the pressure of completing 11 courses while applying to school. However, I do know someone who did the certificate and said that it helped to prepare them for the classes they are now completing at grad school. So I would just say weigh the pros and cons!
  7. They convert the number grade. So an 88 would be a 3.9 for Ontario schools
  8. Hi guys this is my second time applying so I am quite familiar with how they calculate sub-GPA. Ultimately, it is calculated on your last 20 credits. So for most students, this is your year 3 & 4 grades. However, for students such as myself who went back to complete extra courses after graduating, they only had to take a couple of my 3rd year classes to make up the 20 credits. In this case, they took the average of all my 3rd year grades , and that became my grade for the remaining courses that make up the 20. Each of the 20 grades is then converted to a gpa calculation (on a 4.0 scale), and then the average of all of those determines what your sub-gpa is. Hopefully this helps!
  9. Thanks for letting me know. Its already mid-June.. Im really surprised they haven't made any decisions for their waitlist yet. I hope someone hears something soon!
  10. Has anyone heard from UofT regarding their waitlist at all? I had reached out a couple of weeks ago, and they said "we are working diligently to get back to our waitlist applicants as soon as possible". Hoping for some kind of update!
  11. I had emailed them earlier in the week just asking when people from the waitlist will possibly hear anything. The only response I received was "We will contact those on the waitlist as soon as possible". I didn't expect it to take this long to hear something (whether it be myself or that someone else that hears from them) as it has already been almost 6 weeks since the first round of offers went out. I have checked the UofT facebook group though and there are currently 52 people in it - meaning that there may be as few as 8 waitlist spots available...
  12. Ok thank you so much for sharing! It doesn't really make sense that NOW they send us the email, especially if the JOINid platform is not where we will be receiving a waitlist offer. Did they by chance say when they will be sending out more offers? This wait is killing me lol
  13. Hi everyone Has anyone heard anything from UofT regarding the waitlist? I received an email to set up my JOINid account, but my login wasn't working and I have been waiting for them to respond to my email. Hoping to hear something soon as its been almost a month already!
  14. Does anyone know if Western begins contacting people on their waitlist as soon as others start rejecting? Or do they wait until the first round of offers expire mid April?
