  1. Hi there, Does anyone have advice on how to best prepare for the interview? Also, how can you find out what percent of interviews actually land a spot?
  2. I am applying to about 13 programs and missed a 12/1 deadline - I had it down as 12/15. It is not a TOP TOP program - do you think if I email them they will allow me to still submit for this round? Or did I basically kill my shot?
  3. Curious - do programs just ghost you if they are not interested, or do they send rejections? I notice people saying they are getting interviews in some programs and it made me think if you do not get an interview is that basically a rejection?
  4. When do people think 12/1 applications will start to hear about results? Mid Dec? January?
  5. Hey, I am hoping I have the need for this question and not jinxing myself ? 1. How do you know (ahead of time) if interviews will be in-person or online for a particular program? 2. What is the dress code (Male) for Biology PhD - suit? pants shirt and tie? Pants and shirt? 3. Any suggestions on how to prep? Are they usually behavioral interviews? 4. Would you think that most Bio/Neuro PhD programs have interviews prior to acceptance? Thank you!

  7. If my undergrad GPA is 3.3 but Masters is 3.8 should I consider my chances based on UG or Masters GPA - will both matter?
  8. I am in my second year of a Masters program and have started applying to PhD programs. I have a solid GPA 3.72 but it will increase this term and next term. Should I notify the admissions committees of my improved GPA once grades are released in December? If so, what is the best approach to doing so?
  9. Hi there, I am wondering if it is worth doing a "chance me" here. I have 15 programs on my list and at this time I am just planning on applying to all since I have no basis of knowing if I would be a good candidate. Advice or feedback appreciated.... Ivy League Undergrad, Biology Major 3.3 GPA Top Ranked Biology Masters Program (currently 3.72 GPA - will improve by Spring ** although not sure that will matter - can I send updated GPA to admissions in Dec?) Work 30+ hours a week for last 1.5 years in a neuro lab working under incredible Lab Director (Harvard Phd) who is my LOR. This is my Masters thesis work also. Strong Personal Statement about my passion, experience Internships in other labs during college Demonstrated passion specifically in neurological degenerative disorders Schools: Ivies (long shots) Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Columbia Middies: Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, NYU, BU, BC Safety(?) UConn, Rutgers, Brandeis, Northeastern Thoughts/feedback???
  10. Applying to about 15 schools for Phd Neuroscience. Undergrad studied biology at IVY with 3.2 GPA. Completing my Masters in Biology in Spring at top-ranked school and have 3.72 GPA (this GPA will increase more this year but applications due before grades will be posted). Also been working 30 hours a week in a neuro lab for 1.5 years and doing thesis work. Questions: 1. Is there any way to research admission stats for these programs? Application acceptance rates? 2. Will my Masters GPA help my application since my undergrad was low. Any advice on how to use grad cafe since I am new would be greatly appreciated.
