I was accepted to Tufts on Feb 10. I don't know if they still have students to accept, but it has been a bit since I first heard back from them. I also applied to Williams and haven't heard back, which is a little frustrating (would rather they just tell me if they're not going to accept me!) but I ended up deciding to accept Tufts' offer.

I will be attending Case Western this Fall! They gave me full tuition + $15,000 a year stipend. This was actually my second time applying. I got into Case Western and NYU IFA for Fall 2020 but decided to go to Yale for a Master’s in religion. My subfield is medieval art so I’ll be studying with Elina Gertsman.

Best of luck! From what I can tell, they haven't sent out acceptances for either program yet, so crossing my fingers for both of us!!

This isn't the sociocultural anthropology thread, this is the Art History thread. Has anyone heard from Yale ART HISTORY? What about Stanford art history? I have a feeling these random interviews are trolls or mistakes or something because if most people in here applied to these two programs, I am sure that some of us would have heard something about an interview by now. I will be seeing the Stanford DGS on Saturday and will speak with him then to see what's going on over there...

Hi! Is there someone you feel you *need* to work with at the Institute? If not, I would very much recommend NOT going to the Institute as a terminal MA, for a multitude of reasons, nearly all of which come back to cost, and money, attention and resources being skewed toward the PhDs at the expense of the MAs. I have had multiple full professors of Art History in NYC who received their PhDs from the Institute literally call the terminal MA program a "hell hole" or a "scam."
My recommendation, again, if there is someone specific you would like to advise you at the Institute, would be to apply to the PhD, and pick more affordable terminal MA programs to apply to if you do not get admitted to the IFA as a PhD student, with the intention of reapplying to the IFA for a PhD once you have received your MA.
