  1. Yeah, the SOP and writing sample length had me scrambling. I had to cut well over half of my pages down to make it to where I could turn it in. Stay positive. Again, hopefully we'll both get in and can laugh about this over a beer in August. God bless you as well. I'll be praying for you
  2. They were all PhDs. When I didn't get into any of the doctoral programs I was encouraged to do an MAR at Yale, so I applied there. The best advice I've gotten has been from setting up meetings with professors and telling them what I wanted to do and seeing if they could/would give recommendations. I thought I had a few clear shots (one being chicago too) and they didn't work out. Throughout my application process most programs are not very forthcoming with advice on what you could have done better. I've had some professors who I had been in constant contact with essentially go ghost after applications came in. Maybe my stuff was so bad they were disappointed and thought the conversations were not worth it any more or something. IDK. I never spoke with admissions except for the MAR because I've just been applying to PhD programs. Also, I forgot that I applied to UPenn (PhD) as well. BUT!!! From what I understand Yale Mar decisions should be out next week! So, fingers crossed.
  3. Chicago, stanford, yale, and notre dame I think. Denied all not even a call back, so I applied for the MAR at YDS and I guess we'll see.
  4. IDK about your chances, but that's also something that happened to me a lot. The professors would tell me how much they liked the things I wanted to write about and then I wouldn't get in or hear anything from them. I wish you all the best. Maybe we'll both be at YDS next year
  5. I hear that YDS acceptance letteers won't go out until midway through march
  6. Chicago rejections are out too
  7. I only applied to one, so I am extra nervous about the response.
  8. Princeton denials are out
  9. I came here because I think an Mar is the only hope I have for this round. I'm curious if there's any others going for masters degrees around here?
  10. I never hear anything from Emory. I feel like I'm just applying there for the sport now.
  11. Just got a denial letter from Stanford. So, those are out.
  12. I appreciate that it's all good though
  13. I had an interview last year and did not get accepted. I got an email from a professor telling me I did not move on to the next round this year as well bhofmann24 What subfield are you studying?
  14. I think Yale has already had interviews as well or at least made decisions and cut some people
  15. PhD in the other thread some people are saying they got interviews
  16. I was cool until I came on here and saw people were already getting interviews. Now I'm on my "woe is me. I ain't getting in anywhere" bag
  17. That was such a quick turn around for them to get back to you already. I wasn't expecting anything this month. I applied to their history program. Hopefully I hear something soon too then.
  18. Is this for masters level or PhD?
  19. How y'all feeling? Stanford apps are due in a few hours. Which is my first of the season. Idk how confident I feel about what I just turned in honestly...but it's in
  20. Life has been hectic for me, so I am starting late this year. I'm looking to apply (for the final time) to stanford, columbia, Uchicago, and maybe Notre dame . This would be in american religions or religions in modernity depending on the school
  21. Well there's my last rejection
  22. This place has gone quiet. Anyone get into any schools that they are planning on turning down? To be more specific anyone get into Stanford that doesn't plan on going?
  23. Columbia was my last hope (outside of a waitlist school). I tried to apply to UChicago, but I thought the date was the 5th and it was the 4th. Had it done just never hit send.
