  1. For those waiting to hear from Columbia, this is what my friend, who’s currently a PhD student there, said: “Hi! I believe this month is reserved for internal discussions. And acceptance letters will be in your inbox between early March and April! It'll take a bit more time to hear from Columbia!”
  2. I just whatsapped a friend of mine who's currently a PhD student at Columbia. I'll let y'all know what insider information my friend can provide!
  3. and they changed the Philosophy of Religion track to Philosophy and Critical Thought this year!
  4. I was surprised by that number too. At least, they accept 5 at Harvard or Yale! What is your field of study? I applied for Philosophy of Religion, and I saw they just accepted one student in that field of study last year. I also wonder if they place promising students not accepted into the PhD into the MPhil program (the first two years of the PhD). It seems they regularly place students into the MPhil program - judging by the graduate student profiles on their website.
  5. Anybody heard from Columbia at all???? Interviews, rejections, acceptances? I heard they only take 3 students a year! Yikes!
  6. I got accepted by UVA last year (and declined). If I remember correctly, admissions only came in close to March...
  7. That's great! I decided to apply to Columbia and Harvard - though I am dying to leave Cambridge once and for all lol. I've been here for far too long!
  8. 106 views and no post! Well, here I go. Right now, I am only considering applying to Columbia's Religion Department. My research proposal involves philosophy of religion, Indic thought, and gender studies, and I found two folks there who are a fit. I am coming from Harvard, where I just graduated with a master's degree. This is my second round of apps. I applied last year and got in but decided not to attend the university that admitted me: a matter of fit. Hope this inspires some people to post!
  9. Here we go again! Who's applying? To which schools? To which fields? Good luck!
