Does anyone know if we'll receive instructions on how to set up an account to access the Extranet before the results are made available? I'll simply pass away if the results are posted and I don't have an account to see them... Is anyone else in this boat?

SSHRC will send you an email with instructions on how to access the extranet. It'll say something along the lines of: here is your username, click here to set a password.

I was of the understanding that the quota system doesn't matter once you are in the national round. The quota determines how many students can get advanced from the individual university to the national round. Once you are in the national round, your school has no factor in your acceptance.

I was under this impression as well - quota only matters for how many applications theyre allowed to send to SSHRC

I had a friend who was wait listed and he then got an e-mail SIX MONTHS after the results came out saying enough people had declined that he now had a full ride for his PhD. It *does* happen but likely is really dependent on how big the school you are at is.

How does school size influence it?

I'm an SSHRC applicant (submitted by my department), not NSERC, but at a point maybe a month or two my application just disappeared from the portal. My CV is still there, but my application is no longer listed. Another student from my department noticed the same. I was wondering if anyone here has noticed something similar?

I am also a SSHRC applicant, and mine also disappeared from the portal months ago. We have a different application system than nserc
