Does anyone know if we'll receive instructions on how to set up an account to access the Extranet before the results are made available? I'll simply pass away if the results are posted and I don't have an account to see them... Is anyone else in this boat?
SSHRC will send you an email with instructions on how to access the extranet. It'll say something along the lines of: here is your username, click here to set a password.

Last year my results (committee 3) weren't sent to me until 11pm and I've heard of results arriving at like 2am, so it may be a long night

The thing is though, don’t they have rankings / scores for everyone? So it would have been just a matter of moving the cut off point.. ugh
In theory it would be that simple, though with sshrc I doubt it ever is

I still have no documents in my extranet from last year Â

Mine is not under maintenance. For me, the application system says maintenance is scheduled for today, but the extranet, where they release results, has its normally scheduled Saturday maintenance.Â

@rohcoco Lol I would have gotten all worked up if I saw that email too, I'm anxiously awaiting anything from sshrc

Once the applications are forwarded to the national competition they generally tend to disappear from the application portal. If I remember correctly, when results are released, we get an email to login to the sshrc extranet, which is different from the application portal.Â

Any ideas if we will actually hear back in April this year? Last year it wasn't until like the 8th of May :/

Hi All,
Has anyone heard anything regarding any movement on the sshrc waitlist from any committees?Â
ÂthanksÂ

I was of the understanding that the quota system doesn't matter once you are in the national round. The quota determines how many students can get advanced from the individual university to the national round. Once you are in the national round, your school has no factor in your acceptance.Â
I was under this impression as well - quota only matters for how many applications theyre allowed to send to SSHRC

I had a friend who was wait listed and he then got an e-mail SIX MONTHS after the results came out saying enough people had declined that he now had a full ride for his PhD. It *does* happen but likely is really dependent on how big the school you are at is.
How does school size influence it?

Once the dust settles a bit, I might create a waitlist thread, as a few of those have existed over the years.Â
ÂÂ
Count me in if you do 😕

Does anyone know how often people decline their awards? Just wondering if I should have any hope of moving up the wait list. I know the CGS-M waitlist can move pretty good since people apply to multiple schools, but idk if that’s the case here…

it sounds like I have been waitlisted, but I'm not really sure what that means...

I'm in humanities and haven't received my results yet either.Â

I'm an SSHRC applicant (submitted by my department), not NSERC, but at a point maybe a month or two my application just disappeared from the portal. My CV is still there, but my application is no longer listed. Another student from my department noticed the same. I was wondering if anyone here has noticed something similar?Â
I am also a SSHRC applicant, and mine also disappeared from the portal months ago. We have a different application system than nserc

Still supposedly like a week out and I'm constantly checking my email already ðŸ˜

I haven't heard anything. However, I did hear from my school back in November that I'd been forwarded to the national competition so fingers crossed.Â
