You should ask this on the literary forum! This one is for visual arts.

You should try to organize a visit if possible! I visited and was really impressed by the facilities. The neighborhood also didn't seem bad to me. If you're really worried, know that the art building does have security and everyone has to sign in. I probably won't attend because I have a better financial offer, but I think it is a really special place.

2024 Creative Writing MFA Applicants Forum

It's really easy to get a cover for the catalytic converter on your Prius! Much cheaper than getting it stolen. Trust me, I've been there. -
All you have to tell them is that you have another offer but would rather attend their program! Post in the 2024 topic for more feedback from others.

"Appointments to teaching assistantships are made by the faculty of the School of Art and managed by the assistant dean for academic affairs. Teaching assistantships are usually assigned only to second-year students. A student may not apply for an assistantship because all appointments are based on individual merit and performance qualifications and not on financial need. A U.S. Social Security number is required in order to be paid as a teaching assistant. Teaching assistantships may be for one or two terms, and the compensation is made via monthly payments (rather than tuition remission)."

I replied with something similar. I had a feeling that I wouldn't hear more though, so it's good to have that confirmed. Thank you so much for responding!

Hi, they literally used the same wording for me this year. I was just wondering if they ever communicated further with you? Did they give you a definitive yes or no? If so, when was that? Thank you so much!

Did anyone else interview with the University of Arizona? They said that they would notify two weeks after the interview, which was last Friday. Wondering if others have heard anything, especially for Photo
-
One of my interviewers got a date wrong. Just ask for clarification

Rejected from University of New Mexico Photo an hour ago!
-
Congratulations! It's going to come out after. I was told it'll be in the next week or two.

just got a rejection from the university of minnesota

That might've sort of been the acceptance email. I got something similar but more personal for photo. I think the funding is held up because of the FAFSA issues but they still want to start accepting people, so they're offering visits first and foremost. That's what Davis did too.

I think they've picked their acceptances but probably have a game plan for their waitlists! It's not over till it's over

Photo!

Accepted to Tyler yesterday, accepted to UC Davis today!

You can use the search in the Visual forum as a whole. Just type in the school or whatever keyword and it'll show you the results from each forum year

I was interviewed by UC Davis last Thursday, and it seemed like they were interviewing a lot of people that day. They didn't say anything about when I would hear back.

I have this written down: Offered interviews Feb 7, 20. Reported interviews Feb 11, 16, 25. From an applicant: "They asked me a project where I went completely off my comfort zone and to explain that work. Other than that, they asked me to explain another work of mine that shows them who I'm and want to be as an artist". I really dug to find this, so I don't remember what years the info is from. Their regular deadline is February 15th, so if you weren't selected for the fellowship candidacy I think it's normal to get contacted after that date.

I applied to UIC and haven't heard anything!
-
Wishing you luck as well!
-
Thank you! I guess I'll hold onto a little bit of hope.
-
Did you hear from the ceramics professors specifically or from a graduate committee? Did it seem like they had made choices for all concentrations?
-
I just got an interview for University of Arizona Photo!
-
I haven't either
