Got my rejection from the McGill counselling psych program today LOL. For the sake of transparency for any future applicants, a heads up that being an out-of-province applicant seemed to have read as a disadvantage. I had an interview with my POI the first week of Feb. and she made it clear that the department's committee holds final say. I ended up hearing from one of the committee directors the last week of March 'asking for supporting syllabi' to determine if I could be admitted or not because apparently the courses I listed as meeting equivalency did not seem to be sufficient (despite completing an Honours BA at a U15 Ontario school and planning ahead from my first year to apply to clinical & counselling programs...) and that she would be meeting with my potential POI to review. I suppose it was not enough. Feel pretty dejected about it but I cannot imagine being an international applicant and trying to meet hard-lined course equivalency standards when it's like this for out-of-province. So, take that as you may but I wish that I hadn't been left high and dry for two months like this.

Has anyone else formally heard back from McGill counselling? Waitlists or rejections? It's taking forever...
