It took them roughly two weeks to respond to my request. They didn't send an email within those two weeks to acknowledge my request. How long have you been waiting?

My department requires students to TA regardless of scholarships or research assistantships. This has not posed a challenge for CGS-D or PGS-D award holders. But I recommend that you reach out NSERC and your institution to confirm.

Thank you for the info! My award office has been radio silence since November lol. But it is good to know it can be retroactive. Hopefully we receive it sooner than later!

I am wanting to start my award May 1st. I already emailed NSERC my start date and got confirmation and access to sharepoint. My institutional rep has not yet signed the first installment form. Does anyone know what happens if it is submitted after May 1st? Would I be required to push the award to Sept 1st?

Hmm, yeah I just went into the link and this is what comes up "Click the link below to upload your documents There are no items to show in this view of the "Funding Opportunities" list." Edit: I emailed them and they responded right away with "You will receive instructions on how to access your SharePoint upload folder by tomorrow. Please note that your instalment form must be signed by an institutional representative."

I've not done it yet, but I just got an email from NSERC with a link and instructions. They sent it after I sent an email confirming I am accepting the award at a given start date.

Congrats on the award! There was talk earlier in this thread that the amount will likely go up next year if the budget increase is ratified. I don't think there has been an official announcement yet.

For those that have gotten the official email, did you also get the automated email saying results were coming out soon? I haven't received anything yet.

For the doctoral awards, its 50/50 for research and "other". A portion of the "other" relevant experience, etc., includes transcripts. For the masters award, 50% is for "academic excellence", a part of which is based on transcripts. More info on this in under the "selections criteria" portion of the main page for the respective awards.

Somewhat related to this, I applied to the doctoral award through my institution and got news in Nov 2023 that my application was forwarded to the national level. When I logged onto the portal today to see if it was updated (as results will be updated soon), I noticed my application was marked as "received". The portal says it should be "approved" if submitted by an institution or "received" if submitted directly. Does anyone know if there was an error with my application or something? This is my first time applying.
