Hi everyone. In honour of Ontario offers being finalized, I thought I would get on it and create the forum for those of us applying next year to Canadian schools!

Western sends out waitlist offers every 24 hours, depending on acceptances vs rejections. They send out an offer, wait 24 hours to hear back, and then depending on the response, continue to move down the list. In theory, people could back out of their spot or hear from another school elsewhere up until classes start, so it is difficult to say whether or not you will hear back. But I can't imagine any schools send all their waitlist offers out in one day, as they could receive too many or too few acceptances and then be in a tough situation. -

Does anybody know when people started hearing back from Western's waitlist last year? I am wondering if its after April 15, or April 29th. Don't want to start getting anxious over it until I have to! -

They did, they told me they aren't going to disclose the amount of people on the waitlist. I think it's definitely safe to assume there's at least 60 people considering the amount of people saying they were waitlisted on this thread alone, and I would assume 'thirds' indicates a number roughly divisible by 3. Last year it was quadrants, so maybe they upped from 40 to 60 or something of that nature! Could even be 90, who knows! -

Congrats!!! That is so exciting. Do you mind if I ask what you did to strengthen your app over the last year? You can PM me if you feel more comfortable doing so! -

Emailed Western and they disclosed I am in the first third of the waitlist. Not sure how many people are on it, I followed up to ask, but I am unsure if they will disclose that. Anybody thinking of declining Western? Lol! -

Me neither, but my student centre says waitlisted for Western, with nothing updated on ORPAS, so I am quite confused. I am assuming it means a rejection or a waitlist for UofT as it doesn't seem anyone has received either of those, but it is rather frustrating to me in the dark! -

Got waitlisted at Western through student centre, but my ORPAS hasn't updated at all. Is everyone seeing this under choices/offers? I am wondering what it means if nothing has updated! Trying to mentally prepare myself! -

Are offers tonight at midnight, or tomorrow at midnight? I was kind of assuming tonight at midnight because that's midnight on the first, correct? -

Hi! Has anyone received any information from UofT regarding an applicant portal? I am unsure if you receive the admission decision via ORPAS or if you have to access through a separate portal (I have received information from both Western and Mac, but nothing from UofT yet). Thanks! -
Hello! I am going to be taking stats through Athabasca University. However, when I go to add in the prerequisite through ORPAS, my home university is greyed out, and I am unable to indicate that I am taking this course through another institution. Has anyone run into this and if so, how do I work around it? I don't want my application to be messed up because of this, as I do have all the pre-reqs. Also, does anyone have any advice for LOI? Feeling a bit overwhelmed with squeezing everything in while keeping it succinct and maintaining a flow. Thanks so much and good luck everyone!
