  1. Welcome! I imagine all acceptances were sent out and the first Wyoming fiction waitlist just dropped on Draft. I’m also waiting on Wyoming and I haven’t heard anything personally! congratulations @GingerBB!!! ❤️
  2. No problem! It seems like everyone used the full name in the form, and I made mental note because another person who was accepted into CSU also got accepted into USC (congrats Dylan if you're here!!)
  3. Hi! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but U of South Carolina acceptances and waitlists have already gone out. Idk about UH, I will check the draft and update! edit: For Houston, there's one post on the draft that says someone got a notification about housing and assumed that means they were accepted but they seemed unsure and I don't recall if I've read anything on the forum but hopefully someone else can chime in if they have!
  4. Not exactly the same, but this is what I've done with CSU. They were already top choice and then I just hyper focused on how great the program is and Fort Collins and I've gotten so mentally attached to the idea of going there. I'm already accepted, but without funding, it's a no go so I feel only 75% of the way accepted. I'm trying to make peace with the possibility of not going to protect my mental wellbeing lol
  5. That's lowkey how I'm feeling about UNLV, it's an incredible program but it comes with more logistical complications for me than NAU or CSU. This is incredible and I've got my fingers crossed for you! That sounds like a really incredible literary pursuit and I hope that you get good news soon! And you as well @Mystic_Sunshine I hope y'all can be cohort buddies :)))
  6. CONGRARULATIONS!!!!! Omg that’s so hype UVA seems amazing
  7. Bummer I’m sorry, that’s hard to have it within grasp but not quite funded. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you both for full funding at Boulder and for Wyoming!! 🕯️ They should be this week
  8. No word on UNLV fiction and I’m still waiting on Wyoming too edit to ask: what else are you waiting on?
  9. Streak over, CU Boulder rejection arrived via email Not surprised, a little disappointed because I like the faculty and Boulder but I mean I’ve been yelling loudly about how desperate I am for CSU to please give me money so its all good
  10. Me too! Living in a constant state of uncertainty is stressful and I haven't written anything in weeks. I got a literary magazine rejection yesterday and I went "phew, it's not a school" which was fun at least lol Edit: HELL YEAH @Tinky C. Clown
  11. I'm seeing stuff on the draft about people accepting an offer with a deadline before the April 15th date from schools that didn't sign the resolution (CSU didn't) and people talking about accepting and then pulling out later which I think if that works for you that works, but it makes me even more stressed about funding at CSU because their deadline is around this week and if people are accepting the position with the intention of pulling out for a better offer that comes along (which do the best for yourself) it makes me think I shouldn't decline the CSU offer until it's closer to when decisions have been reached? But then I'd be taking up a spot for someone else to potentially fill? Idk, what's the call on that? Am I overthinking? (yes) Like I think it's really uncool of CSU and other schools to set a deadline so much earlier because it creates more tension and uncertainty for all parties. I don't want anyone to pass up a funded offer because they have to bank on an uncertain future. I also want to know that if the GTA is accepted, that I can move on and not linger excessively just in case. This is literally why they made the April 15th resolution Rant over, thank you, sorry
  12. Big day for news yesterday, congrats to those that got acceptances and waitlists!!! ❤️❤️ Today I'm manifesting the GTA position at CSU 🕯️ I submitted my application on December 1st and now that I'm so close to the finish line but it's not yet in reach, the wait feels intolerable. I've become insufferable to those around me because I keep endlessly speculating about the circumstances around the waitlist. Soon, I imagine we'll be entering waitlist purgatory for a lot of folks and I wish you peace and good news ❤️❤️❤️ Edit to add: I took some deep breaths and I'm feeling more normal again lol I just keep bouncing between heart wrenching desire for this program and knowing that things will be okay regardless and nothing meant for me will pass me by
  13. My Iowa rejection letter got lost in the mail a few years ago 😕 such a bummer I held out hope for so long because I wasn't on the draft or forum lol
  14. Congratulations on the iowa acceptances yall!!!!!!! @pearadox @curfew That's so incredible!!!!!! ❤️❤️ I realized my first sleepy congrats last night did Not convey enough hype for what is a huge achievement! This is the week I think. At least for Wyoming, they say that they send out all notifs out by March 15th so this is their week. This is also personally the week when I (and other admits) should hear back about funding for CSU and I literally had a dream last where all the top applicants had to submit their portfolio in video form and one person did funny tiktoks and I was like "oh nooo, my monologue isn't funny at all" and it was terrible and silly lol Here's to hoping for more good news today and this week generally!! Also, an unexpected bonus if I don't get funding at CSU and go to NAU: no more daylight savings nonsense.
  15. Oh my god congratulations!!!!!!! Wow Congratulations!!!!!!!!
  16. Holy fucking shit @Tuxedocat you’re killing it and I’m so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!!!!
  17. Sorry to fill the forum with CSU talk but I didn’t see the second part of this and can’t edit my previous posts: What I like about CSU, as it is my top choice should I get funding: The faculty seem amazing and I love Ramona Ausubel’s writing particularly, the annotations that you do throughout the three years, the fact that it’s three years, the requirement to take a 300 level course outside of English + a required literature class, each professor has a written statement about their teaching and workshop philosophy, and generally the vibes just seem incredible. The biggest sticking point is the 30-50 annotations you do on media throughout the degree, you write little informal craft papers on books, movies, songs, etc that seems like such a fun way to engage with media as a writer. And I know I can do them on my own but it’d be cool for them to be a part of my degree.
  18. I too am curious about that. You have to submit a separate application for the GTA that gets approved by a separate committee. They said that the waitlist for the GTAship isn’t definitively ranked because of the ebb and flow of things. It has me on edge to say the least. 5 per genre and 2 GTA positions per genre so 6 total GTA positions total for creative writing. The GTA positions are split between the three masters programs in the English department.
  19. So based on what current students said, there’s no hierarchy within the cohorts based on who gets funding and who doesn’t. For CSU at least, it seems like a really genuinely collaborative community. I was worried about that going into any program with partial funding. I imagine it varies from program to program.
  20. This year they fund 2 out of 5 incoming cohort and they expressed that they wished they could fund everyone but it seems they don’t have the resources to do so. it is really unfortunate they don’t fund everyone and it seems like the community within the MFA is strong in spite of the fact that they only fund a few candidates.
  21. That’s very sweet of you, I’ll know by this coming week so fingers and everything else crossed! I hope you can find some peace and closure and don’t stop writing!! It took a lot of us multiple rounds and personally, I took a couple of years between applications. Whatever you do, it’ll be great!
  22. Congratulations!!!!! Congratulations!! Also I can't find the OG post but congratulations @saintjdog and other good news people!!! ❤️❤️
  23. I can't believe it's March and you still have 20 programs to hear from, that feels insane. Are a lot of them typically mid to late March notifiers? Edit: Also, can I DM to chat about your thoughts on NAU so far? If it's my only offer, I'm going but as stated earlier, I'm kind of sad about the only online lit classes. Also, it's totally fine if not! No pressure
  24. That's okay, thank you I appreciate it. I'm grateful to have both an MFA to drag them to and a partner, but it does come with its own set of complications lol I hope that you end up somewhere you love and that your partner can find joy in it too! Yeah, I think of the ones I applied to, UNLV is the most competitive. Not that it's impossible for either of us to get in, but I'm tempering my expectations. Are you a fiction or nonfiction applicant this year? Thank you I appreciate it ❤️ They didn't sign the April 15th resolution so the person who has the funding offer now has until next week to respond which makes me sad for them because that's stressful, but a little relieved that I will know sooner.
