Hi all grad cafe-ers! I have advice that I am seeking: I received an offer from the University of Arkansas (woohoo) for their MFA playwriting program. I will be honest, this wasn't my dream school, but it has a lot going for it (good teacher, fully funded), as well as some draw backs (it's in Arkansas, doesn't have the biggest name-recognition). Has anyone had any experience with this program? Is it worth reapplying if this is the only offer I get (I hesitate to dismiss this offer, though, because it is fully funded, and any fully-funded program is super competitive)....any thoughts are helpful!

Congrats on your acceptance!!! That's a huge accomplishment!! I know that they started to interview at Brown (saw someone post that they got an interview on the MFA Draft sheet from FB), but I haven't seen any info for UCSD or UCLA. I'm also following for those schools, so I'll share if/when I hear anything! Best of luck ❤️

Curious if you've heard anything back from them now that the weekend is over? Also, I have hope for you! (I also think federal cuts might have something to do with all of this...or at least I wouldn't be surprised)

Hi all! Anyone heard anything from UCSD yet? People I've spoken to have not yet received any interview requests. Wondering if they're late this year, or if I have gotten one of those dreaded "soft" rejections.

I haven't heard anything yet either, I'm wondering if they're late this year, if federal budget issues are affecting them, or if it's all one of those soft rejections...wishing you the best. I hate this uncertainty too! We're in it together lol

Hi there! I'm curious if anyone has heard from UCSD's MFA playwriting program? I have not heard a peep (it might be a soft rejection...but to be honest I want to make sure because I hate this uncertainty...as I'm sure we can all relate to). And from my asking around, I'm not aware of anyone who's heard from them yet. I'm curious if there is someone out there who knows if they have started sending out invites to interviews, if they are late this year, or if I'm just being softly rejected. Thanks!
