I am not US citizen and come from a country that has extremely strained relations with the US, so my application was inherently more difficult than other applicants. Where I come from it’s quite common for people to be accepted into great programs but still be unable to obtain a US visa. Someone got in MICA but was denied a visa due to a speeding ticket.I have no control over international relations, there’s no point in applying again.

I don't want to go any of the schools that accepted me. But I can't guarantee that reapplying will lead to better results. Right now, I'm debating whether I should just go to one of them.

Whatever. I never liked NYU anyway. I went to a similar school for my undergrad. The business and engineering schools were the stars of the whole university, while other departments were neglected or underfunded. The place was full of finance bros and frat boys. They hype up their alumni network like it’s some kind of cult, but unless you end up on Wall Street or in Silicon Valley, those networks are completely useless.

Maybe we're screwed? My applicant portal still says “Submitted.” Is it that hard to send out rejection letters? They should have sent them out sooner. Just like Oxford University—I received my rejection letter back in early February.

When did you have your interview? I had mine on March 3rd, and I still haven’t heard back from them. This is one of the slowest schools I’ve ever seen. I tried call them, but the student who answered said they didn’t know when the decision would be announced either.

I’ve heard a conspiracy theory—don’t take it too seriously—that RCA selectively admits students from certain countries or regions, even if their backgrounds aren’t as “impressive” as other applicants’. It’s because they’re rich. Unfortunately, I happen to be from one of those regions, so I didn’t apply to RCA. Anyway, congratulations on the results!

Is anyone else like me—hasn’t received anything at all from Columbia? No rejection, no interview invitations, no acceptance. It seems like they’ve forgotten about me.

I mean don’t worry—this isn’t a highly competitive program. My interview was a total disaster, but I still got accepted.

Mine lasted about half an hour, and throughout it, they kept saying we were running out of time. I received accepted offer a week after the interview.

just received an update from the UPenn Weitzman application portal—no interview means it's definitely rejected.

I attended yesterday, and they were really chill. But I got a bit tongue-tied when presenting my portfolio and didn't perform well. I saw on a UK student forum that someone got accepted even after a poor interview performance. So don't worry.

Same situation, I was ghosted by three Ivy League schools: Penn, Cornell, and Columbia. I didn't get anything from any of them. I recall someone mentioning that waitlisted candidates are also selected from those who made it to the interview stage. I was probably rejected.
