  1. I work all day, but I have my email open and halfway jump whenever I get a new email. I also check up on the results page every so often between tasks. I am both overly anxious but weirdly calm about it. This is my second time applying as I first applied for M.A. and I am now applying for Ph.D. and I have found that I am much less on edge the second time around. That said, my programs won't start notifying until more like mid-February at the earliest. I have actually found myself cooking more. Lots of fancy vegetarian foods. Well, fancy for me. This is probably just from the excessive free time I have found with just working full time, as opposed to my frantic M.A. program madness or the hell I put myself through for applying. (I literally don't know what to do with myself on evenings and weekends now..)
  2. jduds, "It would be like having a group of applicants who were pre-approved by the committee dumped into the regular application pool. Definitely not fair for the overall pool." But isn't applying already a little like that in that it is often unfairly based on who your recommenders know?
  3. The results page is slowly creeping over into humanities notifications.. I am starting to get so anxious...
  4. I am currently shopping my M.A. thesis around and hoping to be published, but nothing yet. I am in Art History. Anyone else in this field or other humanities published upon applying?
  5. This process is horrible. I am convinced I will rejected across the board from low GRE scores and no publications...
  6. I am applying to 10 U Washington-Seattle U of Southern California Penn Northwestern U of Wisconsin NYU - IFA UC Santa Barbara UNC Chapel Hill U of Washington in St. Louis Delaware I am pretty scared because of my pretty low GRE scores and the vast numbers of applicants with the economy, even though I have an M.A. I am looking to specialize in gender and sexuality 19th and 20th century American and European art. What is everyone else specializing in?
