I hate the fact that I have to google it every time, it's one of my many grammar and writing weaknesses.
Personally, I hate when people say finance like "fin-ance", I'm not sure what's proper but I am just so used to hearing "feye-nance."
This usually means the graduate college is forwarding your application to the department for a decision. I have an application in a similar status. I imagine that the graduate college likely makes sure min. requirements are met, and lets the department have the final word. Interpret that as you'd like.

To be pedantic, I know law schools do. A friend of mine was rejected outright by a school who noted that he will likely get into a much better school.
I'm only in at my safety school so far.
I mean how bad of a problem is undergrad? What was your major? Do you have an quantitative research in public policy to help defend you? I think it's safe to say that HKS is likely extremely selective.
