I WAS accepted into Rutgers today. Finally. I don't know if the acceptance was mailed to my old address or if it took longers since a couple of my recommenders were late. Anyway, yay.

Oh no! I moved March 1 and don't know if Rutgers mailed me an acceptance. Does anyone know if they've updated their website? Mine still says no decision.

What are schools looking for in the LORs? Testimony to how well we can research? Ability to work with people? What do you think? Thanks, Lola

Reading this forum, I've discovered that many who are going into the field seem to be interested primarily in research and organization. I want to be a high school library media specialist, and I enjoy research and organization, but I am primarily interested in the service aspect. I like the idea of helping the students with their research and hopefully teaching them research techniques. I taught high school for a year, and my service period was in the lmc. I liked interacting with the students on a more one-on-one basis. I primarily want to help. Is this field a mistake for me? Thanks.

Does anyone know when they're meeting for final decisions?

I've noticed a theme of people getting rejected from their safety schools, schools for which they are more than qualified. Then, people console them with stories of people being rejected from their safety school but accepted into a first choice. Is it possible that our applications just scream "You are my safety school?"

The same thing happened to me. I would highly suggest doing something active. I was seriously depressed (couldn't figure out the point in showering, putting on make up, eating) until I went for a long job. It really does help!!!<br>
