  1. Finishing up my second year teaching with TFA. May could not come sooner.
  2. Linden! I feel its been too long since your last post. What have you been up to?
  3. Congratulations on getting into all three! Is funding going to be a factor in your decision?
  4. Having taught math the past two years I can certainly appreciate a divide by zero joke. I loved the latest episode because it reminded me how conniving and manipulative Ben truly is. I never would've thought after the first time they introduced him he would play such a prominent role.
  5. Do you think he actually knows that Jin is alive, or he just said that because he knows its what she needs to hear?
  6. I'm in the same exact situation. My SO will be coming with me to whichever graduate school I'll be attending. I feel bad already, and even worse if she'll be finding a new job twice in two years. I wanted to apply to the Pitt/DC track but I didn't think it would be fair to her.
  7. So, any thoughts on the latest lost episode?
  8. Here's a few more "government affairs" averages: GW: GPA: 3.48 Quant: 682 Verbal 559 AW: 4.8 Michigan: GPA: 3.4 Quant: 720 Verbal: 570 Duke: GPA: 3.6 Quant: 715 Verbal: 635 AW: 5.25 Wisconsin: Quant 692 Verbal: 586 AW: 4.5 edited to include GPA
  9. Anyone else nervous they havent heard from GW now? If there's anyone that has been accepted, did your status change on the site?
  10. Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this, but I think the uncertainty about policy school is the beauty of this whole process. Unlike law school, it isn't just merely what your numbers are. W.E. can make up for a low GPA or GRE scores. Yes, its nerve racking because there are not such clear delineations of acceptances for policy schools. However, I like knowing that I at least stand a chance at a wide variety of schools. In re-reading this, yes, I am crazy. I blame it on the waiting.
  11. Its that "I cant turn away from a horrific car accident" sort of fascination. Whenever I watch I get the feeling he doesn't even accomplish half of his eating challenges.

    Americorps

For anyone who received an education award from serving in the Americorps, here is a link to schools that match: http://www.americorps.org/for_individua ... _match.asp
  13. I was thinking the same sort of thing. What if Widmore was in line to become the leader of the others up until Ben arrived? That might explain their tension.
  14. What about the Other pointing the gun at Farraday being his mother? He did say she looked strangely familiar.
  15. Linden, Your thoughts/insight have been particularly useful for my application process so it was nice to offer something - even only if it was only slight.
  16. I received an e-mail this morning from the KSG that stated this: "We have processed your application, and your file is now complete. Please note that if admitted to Harvard Kennedy School, you will be required to submit official transcript(s). An official transcript is one that is sent directly to HKS Admissions from the issuing institution."
  17. I would definitely agree with this statement. It shows that you have done your research on the school that you are applying for. In addition, to go one step further, I would suggest mentioning specific research or other factors that make the possibility of working with that professor relevant to you. In each of my statements I essentially said I am particularly interested in working with professor x because their research on y matches up with my career goal of z. Its one way to set yourself apart from other applicants.
  18. Are you debating the MPA vs the MPP? I've been thinking about each for a time. I've been accepted into an MPA - I hope I can say the same about an MPP soon - but I'm unsure about which path to take. Does anyone on the board have any suggestions?
