To those accepted and anyone else who knows: is the Provost's Fellowship more prestigious than the College Doctoral Fellowship? I have been browsing the webpages for these two fellowships, and both seem very respectable and seem to offer the same benefits. Just curious...

Thank you so much for posting this. As courtniep said, these are nurturing words and I think it would serve us well to remember them. It certainly spoke to me and it does feel good to have someone else reiterate the same feelings I've been having. This one is an especially important reminder to me:

Got an email from the Grad Coordinator saying that I have been recommended for admission. Yay! I am anxious to hear about funding options, though. I really hope that they will be able to provide a full funding package for 5 years. I guess we will hear about this soon in a forthcoming letter? Congrats to those who are also recommended for admission!

Same here. Le sigh. Does anyone know how many applicants they received this year?

I would advise against this as well. I had an overseas trip planned for this Feb, and I had to cancel it just a week ago because I was invited for a campus visit and interview to a school that's pretty high on my list. After talking to my professors, they all advised me to postpone/cancel/curtail my trip so that I can be here for the school notifications and in case there will be more campus visits and interviews. We'd miss out on too much if we make a phone interview instead of one in person... Hope that helps! Also, you might enjoy traveling more when your school plans are all set...

Queequeg and mostlytoasty: Congrats! Looking foward to meeting you both very soon. I received the invitation for a campus visit/interview to Emory on the same day as when Queequeg posted on the survey list, so I assume that Emory sent out the emails simultaneously. I've never done a campus visit/interview, so I don't really know what to expect -- excited and nervous at the same time.
