  1. I think it was late March to early April, so I'm not going to be expecting something on a certain date. Admissions was wayyyyyy too stressful for me for me to go through that again. In the meantime, I'm up to 17 scholarships completed so hopefully something will come through eventually..
  2. I'm completely in the same boat, nicolemae. I do have some family in Boston, but they're in the suburbs and not exactly what I would want for my experience. I also have lived alone for the past two years (unfortunately sans cat because my apartment complex is mean). I don't know if it sounds totally crazy, but I'm going to attend the preview events on April 4th and 5th and hope someone there wants a roommate . I actually think it would be fun to have multiple roommates during grad school, but that's just me.
  3. Definitely coming to the Open House. I loved the email that was sent today. Also, anyone thinking of moving early? I kind of want to move in mid June to get acclimated. Any females looking for roommates let me know .
  4. I'm in too!!! I've been celebrating since I found out!!
  5. Thanks for letting us know! Stay safe!!
  6. And gosh.. "Somebody I used to know" is a terrible song. I really liked it when it first came out, but overplaying it for months (and now years) became incredibly tiresome. Btw, I turned down UCLA and Boston University today. I think I'm also about to turn UVA down. It feels really bizarre to shut the door on those opportunities. A few months ago, I would have been ecstatic to receive acceptances from them and attend their programs. At least it opens up a spot for those on the waitlist.
  7. I feel for you. That is a really tough decision. I think one of the biggest reasons we all go to graduate school is so we can put ourselves in the position to get our dream job/jobs. Is there a chance the job could be there for you in a year when you get back? Or will it get filled and you would almost certainly not receive that offer again? Also, is this actually your dream job or could you get better, dreamier (hehe) opportunities with your new master's degree? I would really decide if that job is ultimately what you want. If so, it would be hard to turn down. Otherwise, join us in debt in grad school!!!
  8. Even though we knew it was going to happen, another day passes without word from H. Oh well...
  9. Congratulations!!!! Penn has amazing programs!
  10. Alright guys, I got brave and called admissions. I decided not to ask about decision dates because I figured they would give me the same answer. But... I did ask when their visit days would be. Higher Ed is April 4th with the general day on the 5th and 8th. That's a week later than last year. Therefore... I hope it isn't true, but we really could be looking at next Tuesday.
  11. I think it's getting to be that time where they really need to tell us. I actually have a good feeling about today. I can't believe I've heard from everywhere else before them.
  12. Congrats Ladystoneheart and everyone else! Does anyone know when the TC visit day is for Higher Ed? I didn't see anything in New York on their website..
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyDXdHVw-yM ^I love this commercial btw. I definitely feel like that each time I get an acceptance. This is way better than being accepted to undergrad!
  14. Me too!!! Crazy that we found out TC before HGSE. Congrats Higher Ed people!
  15. Mine just switched back to index too. Weird! What is going on? I guess admissions could have been working late... I wish I had started looking at that website earlier in the season. I mean, at some point, they actually have to tell us. And it does have to be soon. Does anyone know when the Higher Ed visit day would be? Last year, it was one of the first at the end of March. I can't imagine that they would give us a decision less than three weeks before that day.
  16. Also, my theory is incorrect. I logged in now and I'm back to "status." I doubt admissions is working at 7:30 at night..
  17. Yup.. those were my thoughts. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but that happened to someone last year or the year before and the decisions ended up going out that day. However, still try! I'm not brave enough . Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will slip up!
  18. Also beginning to think not today. Not completely giving up until 6 Central Time.
  19. Ok. I have a new theory. My website at the top changed back to "index" a few minutes ago. Until then, it said "status" all day. What if that means that they are imputing our statuses throughout the day? Then when they aren't working on it, it goes back to index. Maybe once they are ready and have put in all decisions, they just change the system to where we can view the decision too. Either that or I've gone crazy...
  20. I'm with m26. I don't want to jinx it either. Also, I still haven't come to terms with the idea of moving my stuff across the country. I mean, I'm glad I'm doing it, but still.
  21. Of course. We have to play by legit rules . And wow.. did anyone check their status recently? The website at the top changed back to "index.html" instead of status. Weird, right? Thanks to whoever pointed that out earlier today.
  22. It's because we are nuts. We surpassed the total number of HGSE 2012 pages a few days ago! Hahaha. Gradcafe record? I know I said I wasn't going to predict anything else, but this sounds like a fun game, Spreadpeace88. So.. I call 5:05 EST tomorrow! Anyone else want to call a time? If only Harvard knew, maybe they would auto admit whoever guessed closest . Regardless, I feel much less stressed now. I think we all needed to get rid of all of our nervous energy.
  23. Congratulations!!! TC is a fantastic school and money will definitely help defray the cost of living in NYC. Yay!
  24. Thanks!!! May we all get more news tomorrow.
