  1. My name is near the beginning of the alphabet so that could be it. Good luck!!
  2. Yes! I think I will. I'm excited! This is going to be a really tough decision. And for those who haven't heard, don't give up hope yet. They were calling to see if I had any questions as well. I was at work and could only talk for a minute (I had students in my office). But I could see how one phone call could take 20 minutes.
  3. Wait... It may not be those days. I was too excited to keep track too closely. Sad, right? I know she said basically beginning of April. Maybe it's 7th and 8th? Sorry guys for my bad memory!
  4. I just got the call!!! It's happening April 8th and 9th are POLS visit days. Good luck everyone!
  5. Trying hard not to get attached to one of my schools while I'm waiting to hear back from others.

  6. As I'm finishing putting together my 40 pages worth of 1040s, W-2s, and multiple 1099s for HGSE (my taxes are complicated), I started wondering why they need this information. I mean, honestly, is this their version of verification? I mean, what financial aid office really wants all this information for students who haven't even been admitted? They don't even want official transcripts until later. *end rant*
  7. Awww, cheer up! Just because you got rejected from one school does not mean you are going to get rejected from them all. Instead, use this next interview as an opportunity. Who knows? Maybe this next school is actually your dream school. You know, it's kind of funny how we go through this process. I feel like it's really easy for our "dream schools" and schools lower on our list to change places. I don't know whether you believe everything happens for a reason, but I do. I truly think we will all be in the right place come fall. Just think, this makes your choice easier . Good luck on your interview!
  8. I know! I was thinking about it this morning. According to previous results, it seems like they actually call all of the POLS admits. I had my phone on loud and next to me all day. One more hour left for today. I just get this feeling that it's going to be tomorrow and Wednesday that they call people and Thursday when they send out the official accept/reject emails.
  9. It says 24th-26th on their website. Has anyone gotten details about these days yet? I'm trying to figure out flights and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be spending $450 just to get there... Maybe they would let us stay with current students? I'll probably email the coordinator and tell you guys what I find out.
  10. Hall of Fame -The Script. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I also was listening to this song right before I got my first acceptance.
  11. Yay! Congratulations! SUSE is fantastic .
  12. Ahh . They gave me a scholarship, but fear not. On the website, it says that the GA for the Higher Ed program has its own process. I wasn't awarded a GA in my letter, but I was under the assumption that every Higher Ed person had a guaranteed assistantship/internship. Therefore, I think, at least with Higher Ed, you would get a GA. I think we just have to interview for them so we can work in the part of Higher Ed that we want. Also, they just got funding to give additional $10,000 scholarships, so maybe you might get that . If anyone from Higher Ed did get a GA awarded in their letter, please let me know.
  13. Ok, you have to keep in mind that those rankings are really subjective and really broad. I would never choose a school based simply on rankings.. Especially for PhD candidates, you guys are focused on studying something really really specific. A school may be #10, but if no professor studies what you want, then you won't be learning what you want to learn. I would say forget about the rankings and go where you actually fit. If that's at UMass, then go there. Someone once told me that GRE scores and GPA made up about 10% of an admissions decision. The other 90% (like everyone has already said) is about research fit.
  14. Happy Sunday to you all! How many posts do you have to make to get to the level above Espresso Shot?

Yay! Thank you, VBD. You are looking at a double shot poster now :). Seems silly, but it still makes me feel good.

Take the small (virtual) happiness in pride :D Congrats!

  15. Thanks for the info. And congrats on the acceptance!!! Good luck sshopeful! I know BU is one of your top choices. Crossing my fingers for you!!!
  16. When was your application complete for BU (aka when did you get the email)? Was it actually 8weeks?
  17. I'm going to predict between Tuesday and Thursday next week is when we'll find out. They said sometime before March 1st. To me that means last few days in February.
  18. I'm going to guess March 5th still. It seems unlikely that a school like Harvard that has been so predictable in the past few years would change their system now. I'm not saying that to be a debbie downer, just so you don't expect it tomorrow . However, it would be awesome to find out tomorrow! The wait is definitely getting to me too.
  19. Gosh.. I wish I knew the exact time. I can definitely tell you it was in the morning though. I checked my status religiously beforehand.. something like 11pm the night before. I was busy at work most of the morning, but then checked around 10am EST and it was there. Good luck! They may do these in mini waves because I know a lot of us got decisions on the same day. Maybe tomorrow will be another wave. Don't lose hope yet!
  20. Love this!
  21. Congrats!!! That is a big accomplishment .
  22. According to previous threads/results page, everyone finds out at once. Don't give up hope yet!
  23. Thank you for sharing!
  24. Me too! I had a 1/16 completion date and got my acceptance letter sometime before 10am this morning . WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm so happy. @m26, check your status tomorrow!
  25. It will be five weeks tomorrow for me and three weeks since I've heard from a school... I'm thinking that I'll probably hear late this week or early next week. The next three weeks are going to be pretty crazy.
