UC Davis - No official notice but Embark was updated today to include, Deny Reason 2: No major professor available in proposed specialization in major. Not surprised since I applied at the last minute without speaking to POIs and simply included 3 potential ones in my application. Unfortunately, since then I realized one them would be perfect and I should have tailored my application accordingly, if only the timing had worked out. Though since there wasnt much of a chance of funding and I got into my 1st choice (still with no funding), Im rather apathetic to the decision.

I got the same email telling me to check the morning of the 10th. Im not optimistic admissions, and far less still about funding. When the decision comes in let us all know.

So true. I just left a department dinner with a chest high stack of leftovers (after my faculty twisted my arm to do so). I also makes me feel better about my life when I realize the only time Ive left campus in two months is to go to the supermarket. Its nice to know Im not alone

Accepted to University of Florida, but no funding this year. Id love to attend but with out-of-state tuition... Bittersweet news.

(reposting from another forum) Did anyone look into or apply to this program? There is not much material or reviews online. Any thoughts or comments?

I recheck everything all day, everyday, and late into the night. Ive calculated and recalculated possible windows over and over again. Someone mentioned twitter, oh god, a new outlet... plus there are the blogs. Why hadnt I thought of this sooner? And just when I thought I reached the peak of obsession. I need to email this thread to those friends who keep telling me to relax. They just dont understand.

Im telling myself that they havent notified me yet because they are still putting together my lavish funding package....

Two nights ago I had a dream that I was accepted to a program that I didnt even apply for. I woke lamenting that fact that I hadnt applied at the last minute, until about an hour later when I remembered the POIs there were not accepting new students. Last year when applying (for my current masters program) was much better. I was volunteering in Central America and could only check my email 2-3 times a week. The perfect cure for obsessive behavior. However, for my applications this year, I cant help but check even at 2am on a Saturday night...

Did anyone else apply to this program? I havent seen it come up on any forum.
