I applied at Michigan, Cornell, Utah, Minnesota, Emory, WashU Olin, North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina, Oregon, Indiana, Georgia, and Wisconsin (all PhD programs).
I wonder if the storm is slowing down the decision process for any schools?
Did Michigan give you any indication about how many people they're interviewing? I applied to their program and haven't heard anything yet; probably a bad sign.
I looked through old results and it looks like a lot of programs make cuts/acceptances during the first two weeks of February. Rejection notifications tend to come in March.
I just realized I posted in the wrong thread, so this is just a repeat of the PhD results thread...
My friend got a rejection letter from Penn State in the mail yesterday (he lives in Utah). I'm still waiting for mine, and expect it to show up any day now.
My friend got a rejection letter from Penn State in the mail yesterday (he lives in Utah). I'm still waiting for mine, and expect it to show up any day now. My friend is also flying down to Texas AM next week for their interview weekend.
I have a friend who was contacted last week by WashU to set up in interview. I assume that since I haven't received a similar email that this means I didn't make the cut.
With Purdue's application deadline of Feb 15, I could have already made a decision on where I'll be heading in the fall by the time they get around to looking at the applications.
I've had very positive interviews so far with Indiana and Georgia and hope to receive offers in the next two weeks. Indiana is flying me out next week to meet with faculty and see the city. I keep expecting to here back from the other schools soon. I'm hearing more and more about schools losing funding and not being able to offer anything for the fall. Kansas, Arizona State, and now maybe UConn have all been shut down.
I've interviewed with Georgia twice, and Indiana. Indiana is flying me out next week to tour the facilities and to meet one on one. Positive feedback is always a good thing.
Congrats again. You are in a totally different class then me. I'll be happy to get into any program, and even happier to get funding.
So what school is your top choice? I love the Stanford campus. That was my dream school for a long time.
Congrats on Chicago, that's a great school. I've had a few friends with amazing credentials be rejected by them in the past, so you must have had a great application.
I applied at Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, Texas AM, Purdue, Indiana, WashU, North Carolina, Oregon, Iowa, Connecticut, Kansas and Georgia.
So far I've received rejection letters from Minnesota, and UNC, and have an interview with Georgia this week.
