Totally in the same boat with you. I applied to 11 schools and have 3 known rejections. I am 100% sure I have 5 more rejections on the way (even though I have heard nothing from them). I am on one wait list that I know about (and that will probably lead to hopes being raised only to crash down). The other 2 left, I can only hope that I am on a wait list for them. More than likely, I am in the same spot a year from now.
I need to work on my GRE too. I got a MS, but just not a lot of jobs seem to be out there for me. Maybe I should look harder for them, but I just don't even really know where to look for them. I got a couple of adjunct positions now, but they don't really pay the bills.
This is such a great statement to me. I've heard some PhD students complain about only getting a thousand or so a month, and I think about all the wonderful things I could do with 1 to 1.5 thousand a month.
