  1. If you added TU Delft to your FAFSA you can get loans. You can also get more loans from Sallie Mae. Just make sure to check out the interest rates on the latter.
  2. Tuition is expensive 14,508 per year for non-residents. And get this, if you go to Indiana for the purpose of higher ed you can never become a resident. So I will always be paying that fee. My POIs warned me about the funding probs but I was hoping I would be the lucky one to get at least the first year. The problem is that it matches so well with my interests and I know that I could get a great job after working with my POIs. I just don't know if it's worth the risk. I am applying to a community college in the area and have lots of experience teaching at JCs but who knows if I will get it. Clearly I have some thinking to do. If anyone got a full funding offer to IU and doesn't want to go there please reject it!
  3. I am in the same boat and would love to hear feedback as well. I really want to make it work with Indiana but can't take out any more loans. I would love to get some feedback as well.
  4. Hi everyone, I was recently accepted to IUB and I wasn't offered funding. I was told that I can apply for an assistantship my second and third years. I was wondering if anyone that is a current student faced this and how you got around it. I saw on the website (weeks ago and can no longer find it) that you can get jobs on campus that allow you to get instate tuition. Does anyone have any experience with this? How hard is it to get these jobs. I also read that you can never become a resident (for tution purposes) if you are coming to Indiana to pursue higher education. I don't want to take out loans because I have already taken out so much for undergrad and my masters. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
  5. I just found out that I got into UVic!!! I am so happy. This is my first accpetance after 3 rejections. I was so worried. To those still waiting on the Canadian schools, hang in there. My POI told me that UVic was slow with sending out the admit letters this year.
  6. Yes it is a commuter campus. I have had lots of friends who have done Bachelors and Masters there. I was going to include "I am sure that since you will be a PhD student you probably won't even notice." I am definitely not advocating that you pick a program based on weekend life but the enviroment plays an important role. You will be there for 4+ years. I just figured it was important info.
  7. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they did in fact do interviews at the end of Jan. We have been unofficially rejected.
  8. Irvine is definitely a stronger program. But, it is a commuter campus so it will be dead on the weekends.
  9. I also applied to work with Dr. Hare and have heard nothing. A friend of mine applied to work with Dr. Churchill and he's heard nothing as well. I have a friend currenlty in the program I will see what kind of info I can get.
  10. I didn't apply to Davis but I haven't heard anything from Duke either. When I log in it still says "submitted"
  11. Is the person who posted admission to the Phd at IU a member? If so what subdivision are you? Full funding for how many years? Sorry for being nosy.
  12. hahahah you're probably right. But at least none of us have heard. There's hope that they only interviewed the cultural ppl.
  13. I found out yesterday. But I applied to the Hominid Paleobiology program not the Anthropology program. They are different departments. Good luck!
  14. First time posting! Is anyone else Applying to the Evolutionary Anth program at Duke? Have they done the interviews yet? I haven't heard anything after the millions of status updates in Jan.
  15. I agree with all of you 100%. I hate it when my friends or family say "what ever is meant to happen will happen. When the program is right for you you'll be accepted." Really don't talk to me about fate when I have worked so hard forever. You never hear people at the bottom of the social hierarchy saying it was meant to be.
