Anyone want to own up to the Tulane admit?

U.S. and European Business Interest in Latin America...I chose it because I get to conduct research all over the world and because my fiance is Mexican, which requires me to spend a good deal of time in Latin America. In terms of disadvantages, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of investment in Latin American studies anymore and the field is becoming more and more isolated.

This happened to me at my MA school. My POI put my application on the side, so that he would remember to ask for my acceptance and forgot about it. I didn't get an offer until April 12th, as a result.

I am also waiting on UIC...

I guess my question is, is it bad form to contact anyone, for that matter, before notices go out?

What is the consensus on contacting POI to ask about decisions? Is it bad form? Should I just tough it out until the letter/email shows up or is it ok to call/email them? Ultimately, I don't want to mess anything up or make them think I'm desperate etc. (Though, I am.)

It seems that this is not a good year to be a Latin Americanist...

In case anyone is wondering...New Mexico decisions are in the mail. You can contact the admissions office or the department for details if you don't want to wait.

Well, hope goes out the window...While I was among those being considered carefully, ultimately Indiana won't be offering admissions

I just noticed an Indiana reject. Are they dashing hopes and dreams today too?

Well, I guess any news is welcomed at this point, even if that news is a rejection from U-Chi...

I'm doing the same...I'm trying to write this damn thesis and get all my stuff together to present at a conference, but I am waiting to hear from literally everyone of my PhD schools...They anxiety of not knowing ANYTHING is really starting to affect my work...

I need to be writing a thesis, but instead I sit around and check my email insatiably...Would my schools please start getting back to me!?!?

Another Chi-town acceptance!! I know I'm screwed now...

This is where I'm at... I got into one school so far (the same school where I got my MA), but everything else has been a flop... I'm thinking what is plan B, as it seems my current school might not be an option.

Ugh.... "You must wait 1 business day to review results after status switched to 'decision made'"

yea that was me...they gave me a 22 April deadline to make a decision, so I'm assuming all notifications will be out shortly...

I just got accepted and received a fellowship offer!

just finished Denick? - Nothing to Envy... It was a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about everyday life in North Korea...

My SO goes to Teachers College for the MA in Art Education...She has a "fellowship" and a few other grants from them, but it doesn't cover even half of her tuition and she has taken out ~$50k in loans and her folks are paying for her to live in NYC... If her parents didn't have money, I don't think she would have gone there...
