So... Now that I did contact the program and they didn't give me any time frame for a decision nor a hint on a waitlist, and now that I know other people were rejected, should I contact the POI and ask where things stand? Or do I just WAIT SOME MORE? [i mean, most chances are that the POI will tell me to contact the program, which I already did. But if I'm on a waitlist, I want to show interest]

I don't think the one-international-per-department is exactly true. I'm pretty sure it depends on the department. I know that at U of T it varied between departments this year, and also it varies from year to year. I'm hanging to the little hope I have left from not being rejected in the response email I got from the department.

Me too! Good luck to those of us still waiting. I sent an email and all I got was "decisions still being made, keep checking the website". Ugh...

I finally did. Sent e very polite short email, knowing other applicants to the same program already got rejections or at least a time frame for decisions. Also asked specifically about a waitlist. All I got was: Thank you for your email. Final decisions have not yet been made. Please continue to check www.yorku.ca/myfile for the most up to date decision on your application I'm getting discouraged...

Yes! I'm also waiting on York U. And they're killing me with the suspense. I know my dept. has already posted rejections, and still nothing for me. "No decision yet". I think I'll contact them today to find out whether there's a waitlist and if I'm on it...

OK, so do I send a polite email asking whether there is a waitlist, and is it ranked? Or do I just ask for a status update on my application, hoping that if there IS a waitlist - they'll tell me? Sorry for being so anal about it... I'm beginning to freak out with all the stories I see here like misplaced applications and such...

ok, I'm bumping this thread cause I have some new info (and because not knowing is starting to affect my plan B...) Now I know the program has told other applicants that they'll have decisions within next week. They post decisions on their website. Since then, some people already got rejections. But nothing for me yet. And still, not a thing on the results board here. I want to know whether I'm waitlisted, so maybe I can do something about it. I don't even know if they have one, but that would explain why some people got rejections and I got nothing. One POI has promised to help me get in. I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but that's the only leverage I have. So: Do I contact the program now, to find out if I'm waitlisted? Do I wait until the end of next week - and then ask about a waitlist? Do I contact this POI - when and what do I say? Thanks for your patience and for any advice!

a SO will help you overcome rejections a school will not help you overcome breakups If your SO is a real life partner (not someone you've been dating for a week...), than he's not just one more thing you have to cope with - he's the one helping you cope! So it's really incomparable, in my view, given the relationship is strong and healthy.

Hey there, The only info I have is that my program has posted decisions on the website, both for MA and PhD. They promise to do so by Apr 4 - this is why I think it won't be long for the rest of you. Good luck everybody!
