The way we all are seeing the results came out, it looks like only person is uploading all the results. If they got around 1500 applications an if they have allocated that to 10 peoples, then probably each has to upload 150. Is it really time consuming to upload the result on web portal ???? This makes me realize thow important automated process  is :)

It can be....if you wanna make sure the right file is uploaded to the right place...you wanna go very slow

My grad school award officers won't tell me about the outcome of my results. They I should expect an email directly from NSERC by April 30th. I am not even gonna bother to think deep about what that is supposed to mean. Damnn, they are cold ?

Anyways, I have waited for over 7 months, I think I can wait for 1-3 more days.

that sucks... mine is more forthcoming....they def have the list sent from nserc though...

  3. Got my result through the faculty of grad studies. I basically told then I had access issues and can you let me know if I got it. Unfortunately the result is No. i wasn’t on the list they received from nserc. I suspect i am not even on the waitlist. My last time applying so good luck everyone !!!

I just got an email back from NSERC all the notices are being upload MANUALLY so it might be while everyone

No surprise...they probably log into the same portal and click on the upload document tab. I wonder if we can upload random stuff up there but I am too timid to try

For those curious about ranking, I emailed to accept my award and I got an automatic response in which it was said that rankings will be available by June 30th.

That is very late...last year it was all together (ranking plus results)

I suspect they won't send the emails until everyone's results are up

more evidence that the entire process is mostly MANUAL.......in this day and age...unreal but heck governments are billions in debt ... no complains

Is there anyone who now has their results but until that point were seeing the "Access denied page" error page? Wondering how serious this is and if my results could be there, but there is a technical problem stopping me from seeing it?

I suspect they are in the process of uploading yours. Technically speaking you can upload whatever you want yourself it seems and they have to block that access for the process to work on their end. This is my hypothesis tho,

I'm at uottawa and my pgsd submission status is still "Submitted".. Should it have changed to "Approved" if it was sent from uottawa reviewers to NSERC? Or do y'all still see "Submitted" as well? This is where I'm looking btw nserc-crsng.gc.ca/OnlineServices-ServicesEnLigne

I just checked...mine also said "Received"..did you pass the competition at the University level?

  10. Last year NSERC basically said all results will be up ON April 16 by 11:59 pm. I guess they are being very vague this year by saying you will get an email when the results are up. Sounds like they automated something possibly to avoid everyone refreshing their page every minute all at once....(better than nth I guess!!!)

  11. Best of luck everyone..I just found out that there is a tab function where you can upload documents and create new folders in the Applicant Library. I suspect thats how the feedback and letters will be uploaded. Yes you guess it right...manually.

  12. Last name Z and I got the login this morning. Note that this is the second time (and final) I am applying so I do have the login and password from last year. It seems that I do not need to re-create another account (i.e. I can just use what I got from last year). The interface has changed though as the folder and feedback files from last year were gone.

Now the waiting game has officially started !!! Good luck everyone!

  13. Anyone applying for the second time? The email did say I can use the previous username. Perhaps that's why I haven't seen the email about login credentials. Also nothing on the website yet except the feedback letter from last year.

Reaching out to see if anyone on here knows how EDI considerations will be incorporated into the evaluation criteria/scoring? For example:

    1) Will applications will be penalized for not incorporating sex, gender and diversity considerations into the research design, methods, analysis and interpretation, and/or dissemination of results?

    2) Will applications be scored/evaluated based on the quality of the applicant's explanation for not including diversity considerations into the proposed research design? Or is the content within this portion of the application not evaluated with scrutiny/given a specific score or weight? I noticed that it wasn't listed as a criteria in Appendix A: Selection criteria and indicators for scholarship applications of the Selection Committee Guide for Postgraduate Scholarships—Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships Programs

    Thanks

My first reaction is NO. Some research simply don't have the EDI components and if you force-tweak your proposal to include EDI, you fall victims of platitude which actually works against your application. The best you can do in this scenario is to put out a good explanation on why the research has nothing to do with EDI.

  15. I want to start this thread to get ready for the tax season in April next year. The federal government is rolling out additional tax credits for anyone working from home (either forced or voluntary). It seems like the T2200 form does not apply to graduate students who were told by the university to work remotely this year and into next year as well.

Has anyone received information regarding the eligibility to claim expenses of working from home due to university policies ? The latest I've heard is the $400 deduction everyone can claim without extensive back up and proofs.

Did anyone on the alternate list get news from NSERC yet? I know that I am the first rank among the shortlisted candidates based on the success rate that is published. but I didn't receive any email from NSERC. I'm totally disappointed!

Nope...didn't bother.....applying again this year for one last time!!!
