  1. Has anyone received an official offer for FinAid?? I got an email from FinAid with an offer in April, but when I go into Student Access, nada! I wrote them an email a MONTH ago asking what was up and only got an auto-reply the day of stating that they were really busy and not to send another email till I received a response. What the crap?
  2. Hey Mal, congrats!! I know it's way late, but I haven't checked here in a long time .
  3. I set mine up yesterday and haven't run into any problems yet. Of course, it's only been a day . . .
  4. Ahh, I haven't received that yet. I emailed the program and they said they'll be sending it out soon. Thanks for the help .
  5. Did you get a packet with further steps to take after accepting your spot? Do you know how I get a password for StudentAccess?
  6. Has anyone gotten their Georgetown NetID yet?
  7. I just got an email from Assistant Director of Admissions at SIS saying I got off the waitlist. Since I already accepted Georgetown, I'll be declining this as soon as I get the letter in the mail. Good luck to you all on the waitlist .

  11. Hey there. Why do you say that a LAS degree would be worth the extra money at Georgetown? I'm trying to find comparisons online for the LAS programs and I'm coming up with nada!

  14. I was coming here to ask this same exact question! I got an email from the department congratulating me on my admittance on March 29th and I still haven't gotten an official letter from the Graduate School. I emailed them yesterday and still haven't heard back. I'm getting worried.

  18. Gah, that sucks! Maybe you could shoot them an email and ask them how to strengthen your application for next year?
  19. I posted this in the Interdisciplinary Programs forum too, so my apologies if you're seeing this twice. I got accepted into the Latin American Studies programs at George Washington and at Georgetown. I know the rankings for the SFS and Elliot programs as a whole, but how do I go about comparing just the Latin American Studies programs? I didn't get funding at either school, so a major factor for me is the extra $15k/yr at GT. Am I just paying for prestige or is the program actually better? Any thoughts/comments you have would be greatly appreciated .

Oh, I forgot to mention: the best co-op in Salt Lake is called Bountiful Baskets. It's done on a weekly basis. You have to order each Monday to pick up on Saturday. You get tons of fresh fruit and veggies for about $16. Check it out at bountifulbaskets.org.
  22. I'm so sorry you didn't get in :/.

  23. Not yet. It's a matter of deciding whether I want to fork out the extra $15k~ a year for Georgetown, and whether that much more money is worth it. I didn't get funding at either school, so it'll be loans either way.
  24. Have you looked into Alexandria? There's a ton of different Metro stops and it seems to be a lot cheaper than DC itself.
