@Mal83 - Thanks for the response, and no I was only contemplating it a tad. You just know that way you get so fed up you just want to do something to shove it in their face purely to see their reaction. Childish I know, hehe. My only problem with the delay is that I'm over in the US come June anyways for a lab/work thing, and was hoping to hear back from them before that to try and get visas and stuff sorted. Won't happen that way now though. Hah, Scotland is nice for sure, and the weather has been pretty great recently. However, there is absolutely no PhDs in the field I want to study and I have as good a chance as getting funding in the US as I do here. Doesn't bode well when you think like that. @spinnergal - Its a great story, and I really hope it happens to me as well!

@Mal83 - I sent one of those e-mails last week and got a quick response with an apology for the wait and that they would be trying to get back to everyone as soon as possible. This was how I found I was waitlisted. I also sent another today, though on second reading of it, it was quite blunt. The admission from that university has been very unhelpful with vague answers of: 'I don't know when you'll find out, the committee are still meeting' or 'you will definitely not find out by April the 15th'. It came to the point that my POI e-mailed them to find out and I finally got an answer saying they were still deciding. As for deadline, I think most universities (unless they state otherwise) have the deadline of April, but I have heard horror stories of them getting back to people in June. I am getting to the point where I'm highly considering withdrawing my application anyways, and moving on. 5-6 months on a waitlist with a lack of communication on their part is making me re-think it all. Best of luck to the rest of you, I do hope you hear something back in the next couple of weeks (I think most US universities are still on easter break).

Hey, I am in pretty much the same boat. I am at the point that I want to either know if its a yes or no, and not have to keep going in circles trying to find the information. It is almost like an arcane art for them to make the choice or something.

I e-mailed one of my choices yesterday, to be told that once the department had finalised their choices, I would be contacted. Replying to them that I still haven't even heard a thing for about several weeks, was told to contact a new admission person (the person I had been dealing with isn't there anymore...). Was nice of them to let me know that! The other program said I might hear back in May..might.

Still awaiting a response from two. At the current time, even an rejection would be better than waiting.

I was told by one of my universities that the admission process would take longer than April the 15th (even though they are part of the Council of Graduate Schools) and the other hasn't responded to my e-mails since Febuary. Going to wait til Monday and see what I can find out, but its not looking great.

Hey there, I did the same last thursday. Only got one reply, basically saying that it was still under review and they would get back to me when they got back to me (this might go well beyond April). The other's I keep waiting to hear from hehe.

Considering there was 50 views and no response, thought I'd update this. I contacted miami recently, and they told me that my application is still being reviewed and this could go well beyond the 15th of April.

All 4 of the schools I applied to (and the particular PhD) have had results up, and I haven't heard anything more other than they have my application and processing it.

Hi there, I applied to the University of Miami Biomedical PhD program back in December, and had heard they had received everything. However, I never received a myMU application ID or such. Was just wonderinf if anyone else had heard word from them?

I am in the same situation. All of my deadlines were december 2010 and january 2011. Rather frustrating wait though!
