Has anyone heard back from Alberta ECE? Right now I'm not sure whether they're just waiting to give me bad news. Shouldn't they have given me a response by now?

I recently received an admission letter from UIC for masters in ECE. I'm looking forward to attending but the problem I have right now is that they did not provide any funding. I could get through the first year but i doubt i'll be able to fund my whole study without any form of assistance. Does anyone have information about the availability of assistantship positions for masters students at UIC?

This discussion is very interesting to me. I applied to a number of schools and so far I have had 3 admits but all without funding. I still am waiting on 3 more schools but they are more competitive schools. I really want to pursue this degree but I'm loooking at a debt of about 60k if I choose to attend. I also keep asking myself if the fact that they didnt offer any funding at all is a sign that they dont really want me on the program especially since this is an engineering degree.

I also need advice on writing my SOP for fall 2012. I have to write everything in 300words and i'm not sure whether to concentrate more telling them about myself as a person or my research interests. Can anyone help. I will be applying for Calgary ECE.

I applied to Calgary. From the search results i'm not sure they have started sending out admissions. the deadline was march 1. do u think i should be freaking out by April if i don't still hear from them? also do u think the fact that i'll be graduating from my undergrad program in May will affect my application?
