I totally buy into this (also, can we sound the 'faculty' alarm, once again?). Honestly, I started irrationally taking rejections seriously for a long time, but in the past few weeks shifted to thanking my lucky stars every single day for the great news I've been given. It's been an enormous relief.

So I was just thinking a few minutes ago...damn, it would be really cool to get into Princeton after all these rejections. Did I just jinx it?

Also officially out at Cornell and Chicago. Bummer.

Congrats to Stanford! Absolutely my dream school, and even though it was obviously a long shot...still feeling pretty down that I didn't get the call. Barring unforeseen circumstances, looks like my decision will be pretty easy.

Yeah got the email while I was in class at about 11 AM GMT...so pretty early in the US. And thanks for the congrats on OSU. I know I should be incredibly thankful about having a great option, and I am, but it still hurts to get dinged, and I (selfishly, admittedly) would like to have at least one other option for the sake of comparison.

Interesting news about Chicago. Historically they have typically accepted and waitlisted all on one day, so I am feeling pretty down about that, but after hearing what the GA said, I dont know what to think. Not sure why they'd change it this year, especially considering it seems like all subfields are represented so far. I'll continue holding onto hope though. Even after hearing good news last Monday, the rejections, assumed rejection and anxiety about the rest (like UCLA) is just really messing with my head. I thought it'd be easier the second time around!

Apparently far fewer than usual...someone on this forum who was an undergrad at UChicago made that comment (they were waitlisted I believe). I know that this isn't too concrete, but just reporting what was said last year.

Also waiting for Chicago. Last year they did all admits and waitlists in one day, so we'll see if that happens again this year. I hope that's the case again. It reduces a lot of ambiguity. I wonder if they'll take as few IR people this year as last year
